Most dealers will import an Evo if you ask em and you are ready to pay. They will perform the necessary modifications so you can register it. Well its like that here in Montreal anyway.
As for those wise cracks about the money exhange and weather...i hope you guys were joking cause you just look dumb...lol

The reason is not about the EVO's front bumper but close, It is about its front mounted intercooler. Canadian insurance companies will not insure a vehicle that in a 15km/h collision will need to replace a $3000 intercooler. If you import one here you will have to pay a crazy insurance rate if you even find a company that will insure it.

ACTUALLY, it IS about the front re-bar in the evo. it only passes a 3mph crash test but not the 5mph test here in canada. the part you're thinking of is the 40 km/h and having less than $5,000 damage. the intercooler isn't the problem since it is not nearly $5k to replace, not to mention that a lot of other cars have fmic's in them and they are legal (ie, srt-4).
now if you had an evo and reinforced the front re-bar you would have to prove to the ministry that it passes by crashing at 8 and 40 km/h to get a pass on the tests. this isn't to say you have to crash YOUR evo, but an evo with the same modifications done such that the "pass" can be issued to your car.

Ya my dealership also told me that Evo's were comin in Canada in teh next couple of months... but I call BS. Unless they start making Evo's with the 5mph crash re-bar then I don't think well be seeing them anytime soon.
