Exhaust gasket

Hey guys... as many of you know, I upgraded my catback this weekend. I kept my stock gasket and I think I should have changed them. I get that BOV sound coming out from under the car. Some of you might find it cool, but I don't. First of all, a BOV sound should only be when boosting and when letting off the gas.

I'm getting that sound when I step on it and I'm not boosted. So I do have an exhaust leek and I gotta fix it. Where should I be buying my gasket. Crappy tire, midas, I dunno Do you?

BTW, I'm talking about the gasket where the center pipe bolts on the cat

Yeah but my piping is now 2.5 instead of 2.25. Can I just cut-off the excess? Or can I buy some sort of gasket sheet and make my own?

you should be able to get one from any muffler shop since they are a universal gasket depending on the piping size...just ask for a 2.5" flange gasket and they should be able to get you a new one...mine did the same thing when i installed it and with the new gasket it was perfect

When I put it on your car there was no gasket between the center pipe and cat. Mine doesnt have on either. It isnt nessessary because of the kind of flanging used. If you are talking about the one between the muffler and the center pipe there is one there. I used your stock one. Maybe those new bolts we used came a bit loose. Try Putting lock washers between the nuts and flang.

[sidebar] I hear you missed niagra. I thought you were going to that man.

Well I can hear a loud hissing noise coming from under the car when I punch it. From inside the cabin it really sounds like it's coming from where the cat meets the center pipe.

I'll stand outside the car tonight and get my girl to step on it so I can maybe pinpoint the sound better.

Yeah I know. I was supposed to be there but got an emergency call in the middle of the night, so I had to head back home
