I am currently using cobb stg 2 with AMS intake.
(Cobb AP firmware is v1.6.5.0-2223)

I would like to check knocking of my Evo X so I tried to log some data but somehow I couldn't find 'Knock Retard' on any Cobb AP menu like Set Live Data List and Set Data Log List . There is 'Knock Sum' instead of 'Knock Retard'.
I actually repeated to look for the 'Knock Retard after I reset ECU. However, No luck..

Do you guys have any idea??

 

Knock retard = 1/3 Knock count, ie 3 knocks = 1 retard :-)

 

So Knock sum = Knock count?
What % of Learned Knock is good ?

Not entirely true. Most cars you will see a little knock off idle from a stop so 0 is almost never the reading in learned knock on the AP from what I've seen.

 

i haven't updated my AP or logged my car in a while. They used to have Knock Retard and Learned Knock Regard as a loggable/viewable setting. I guess now it's just changed to knock sum?

I have a self-tuned MR and even though I see some knock here and there, I have never seen any Learned knock retard. Maybe because I invested so much time fighting knock

 

As long as you aren't getting CONSISTENT knock at any one RPM ( always getting knock at 5000rpm) 1-2 counts is fine. It must be random though. You will NEVER get rid of all random knock (considering some of it is clutch noise, road noise, etc..)

if you update you accessport they did change it to knock sum and 1 knock sum is .35 of a degree its alot easier to log and read
