Problem: v201 stage2 on MR : max boost 20psi

hi guys.

I got strange issue. I flashed v201 stage 2 and have been running for a month now. Everything is fine. love it

yesterday I was working on the intake, take off , put it back on....etc.. and I'm pretty sure I didn't touch anything else.

there was a moment were I have to turn ignition key on to move the car (while the MAF sensor was out) so check engine light came on.

well... I put the MAF sensor back, clear the code everything is fine.

however, now I got maximum boost is exactly at 20PSI. I tested before and I am pretty sure my car did 27psi with v201 map. I do feel the car is a bit slower... :-(

what do you guys think I should check???

thanks

I just got to check but do you still have your boost pill? If so, get it out of there and test. Also check your boost controller vacum lines.

Hate to bring up an old thread but rather than start a new one......

When I got my COBB AP I just figured that 20psi is what you got with Stage 2. Now I hear that 27psi is the target range. Pill was removed when I first installed\married the AP. Apparently there's something else going on. Checked all vac lines. Also crushed the BOV to recommended specs thinking maybe it's leaking. I'm at a loss. Sure would like the extra 7psi.

ok well within a couple weeks hopefully COBB will release new maps correcting various issues, with sst and perhaps your boost issue?

I would check for a boost leak man, if you were messing with your intake and what not, then all of a sudden your boost isn't hitting like it suppose too, that would be the first thing i looked at. Try retighting everything you touched while messing with the intake.

Figure I give the Stage 1 91 v202 a shot. Boost is higher, 23 psi now, and knock count is lower. Still not reaching peak boost.

I'm running v202 with boost pill removed + CBCS. Now it makes somewhere at 24psi. I was running v303 beta map released last year. It was at 27psi. I think that's the best map for me. too bad I have too many changes and can't go back.

Have you tried re-tightening everything that you touched. I installed my intake and thought it was good, but i was getting a boost leak and dropped my boost down to around 22psi. After i re-tightened everything i was back to the 26 as advertised.

What I also noticed with the Stage 1 91 v202 is that shift changes are very sloppy. Normal driving when upshifting the RPMs drop then pick back up again, jerks. At WOT it almost feels like it's slipping. RPMS don't drop.

yes, cobb confirmed there is some sst shifting issue from v202. you can read from here:
https://forums.cobbtuning.com/forums...on-X-MR/page17

they said they have a solution. let's hope it will be out soon.

however, if you put your car in manual mode, that's shouldn't be a problem. I was on track and doing full manual, it was actually better.
