Stage 1 2012 GSR felt slower than stock?
Have anyone experienced or felt stage 1 map was actually slower than stock?
Ever since the flash I have always felt the car was much weaker or less torque around 3500 rpm, and today while i was on the highway going WOT on third gear car just felt like it wasn't pulling like before. So I immediately exit off ramp and enters gas station
UNINSTALLED AP or Unmarried, and Bingo TORQUE is strong again like first day I got the car.
Through out the entire week, i have been using AP to monitor Live Knock everyday
so every time i am going WOT I checked for Knock Sum on AP.
I have tried all 3 maps ACN, 91, 93 Octane and all result less torque or weaker acceleration.
I wanted know if anyone with 2012 using stage 1 map experience the same as I do.
PS I am using 2012 Beta V201 Maps
I am boosting 24-26 PSI on stage 1 maps
Car is bone STOCK no modification

I did flash back to stock and it is stronger,
I had my wife sit inside the car and compare the 2 map pulls, she even said stock map was much stronger.

any chance it's all in your head? Stock tune there is a torque peak between 3.5k-5, which may feel faster because the torque between 2-3.5k range is nothing. So that torque spike makes your head smash into your headrest. The stage 1 tune has the torque spread out more evenly.. turbo spools faster.. so you get more torque distributed through the 2.5-6k range. So you won't really feel the torque as much cuz you don't have that spike.

yes that is exactly what I am feeling STOCK it pulls my head to headrest ,
stage 1 I don't feel the pull anymore . But looking at the dyno graph from COBB
Torque is suppose to be higher in almost all rpm Range till 7000 rpm.
I think I understand what your saying because it boosts earlier so No more Delay for torque and that instant rush of Torque feeling is gone.
I was thinking about using AP's Dyno feature and compare the 2 but once you uninstalled it wont let you use any feature inside.

I also have a bone stock gsr on Stage 1 and the acceleration increase was very obvious to me (mine's a 2011 though). Maybe the 2012 maps dont work as well yet? They are still in beta. I would post up some of your logs here and on the cobb forums and have them take a look. They are encouraging people to do it on cobb forums for testing.

Ok guys just flashed to 93 stage 1 map and did some pull vs Uninstalled AP pull,
the 93 MAP is definitively faster. Its the 91 map feels kind of weak, plus the HIGH relative humidity today made the car felt real slow.
I have been running 93 octane gas all the time only used 91 map because it lowers my boost to 24 since there isnt any 2012 low waste gate maps,
Never thought torque power band would be change that much .

The real tune voids your warranty right? And some locations dont have great tuners shops close by so the AP can be an excellent option.
So do you find the AP to be worth it then with a stock 2012? I don't think many chimmed in with your thread because I'm not sure if alot of the 2012 owners have used the AP and beta maps. I am actually waiting for people like you to do it first and let me know how it goes

Honestly, in my year of owning my x and lurking these forums, everything i've gathered about warranties being voided is that it's just a hit or miss. Some people get voided, others don't. There are people with fully built tuned motors getting warranties honored. My opinion is that it's your relationship between you and your service advisor that will either make it or break it. Technically, you can't be denied warranty service unless there's definite proof that your mod caused the damage (by law - some moss-whatever act).

Who cares if it's generic? It's generic cuz all stock evo's of a same year have exactly the same components, no? The stage 1 tune is just as good as any other protune could do. (except if you have other factors such as extreme altitude, temperatures, etc. but that doesn't apply to the majority of people.
