The way the cars are being manufactured these days, I'm actually glad that mitsu stop making evos. I rather have them not manufacture one than put out a mediocre product.

 

If an evo was made today it maybe 1.3L Turbo with electric motor.

Evo 11 or not, just as long they create a product that can compete against the RS, STI, and Golf R.

 

Just like the SRT line for Dodge, makes sense... I sooo wish they would sell the Pajero in the states, I was in the UAE recently and they are everywhere! Really nice SUV's!

 

Yes the new Pajero/ Montero is really sharp! Why Mitsu doesn't bring that to the states is strange.

Every manufacturer has their sport model line... STI, AMG, M, etc. If our Evo is to come back, we need a Lancer first. But if the name is applied to some other creation we can't get our panties all in bunch.

 

Not strange, just marketing. Japanese high dollar technologically advanced SUVs don't sell really well. They are also expensive. A new Montero would be in the same class as a Landcruiser or Armada/Patrol. Look at how much they cost.
About 70% of the large SUV market in this country is controlled by GM with the Tahoe/Yukon and Escalade.

Mitsubishi does not have the market credibility to roll out with what would in effect be a 45K-70K+ vehicle.

Probably will be an underpowered crossover like the crappy Eclipse Cross. That is the trend that Mitsu is following.
