“In the future, we would like to launch such a vehicle with Evo characteristics. In Japanese, when you pronounce ‘Oh’ (in Evo), it means ‘king.' So we would like to launch this type of car, featuring EV and PHEV technology, which is the ultimate of its kind. ‘EV’ for electric vehicle, ‘O’ for king - Evo."

My evo8 has been paid for for awhile, lately these automakers for some reason think people make a lot more money, or maybe I have been spoiled not having a car payment. Don't see myself buying a 40k-60k vehicle or forking over 500-800 bucks a month. I mean if you got it you got it. I guess I don't.

In my opinion I think Mitsu should of kept up with the Evo 9 line. I have friends who have 10's and they always say the 9 takes the cake with looks and performance. But the 10's do ride and feel really nice. I just wish would grow a brain for us small group of enthusiast and just give us what we want The best of the 9 and 10 made into an Evo 11

Somewhere in a land far far away haha. But yeah, just sucks they've called it quits on production. I see a fair amount of Evos in comparison to STI's on my way too and from work, wouldn't think sales struggled here in the US

Right now my plan is to keep my evo forever, and when it finally takes a dump and needs replaced in 15-20 years. By that time electric and hydrogen cars will have taken over and I can swap out the evo motor for whatever is the current/common power source and just keep driving an evo with whatever eco friendly motor is decent. Nothing like a hydrogen powered evo!

Same in my area (NYC suburbs).

Also, the closest Mitsubishi dealership is about 45 minutes away from me and I pass probably 4 Subaru dealerships to get there. :\

Nissan Evo?

With Nissan's new investment into Mitsubishi, I've been seeing a couple articles similar to this one. Do you guys think Nissan could bring back the Evo? If nothing else it is a great topic to think about such as how it would drive and look.

Here's the article:

Mitsubishi basically needs a new chassis for the next lancer (likely something borrowed from Renault). If/when that happens, then yes a new evolution makes sense. Nissan knows there is value in lineage/name recognition.

Agree on a new Lancer platform.. but also the fact that it would take time because the Evo is not a mass produced vehicle so while it would likely be profitable for Nissan bring the Evo back, it would have to be after they stabilized the mess that Mitsu is in at the moment. They aren't exactly selling cars left and right here in the US... I do wonder how they are doing around the rest of the globe.

Interesting indeed.

Check out this article my phone suggested this morning. It gives a little more insight as to why a new Evo would make sense for the new CEO. Apperenty he brought in the GTR a while back to do the same for Nissan.

Nissan/Renault/Mitsubishi should co-develop a modular platform that can serve as the foundation for much of their individual lines. VW set the blueprint with the MQB platform. Now even Subaru is following suit.
