Have I missed something????

So is the evo ix the car we take for the 2nd coming of Jesus?

I have a ww ix mr, but I’ve started to look for another but good god. We’re not driving r34’s but high 20’s and low 30’s for these cars???

sorry for the rant but what’s happened did these, go into collector mode? I was hoping to not spend more than 22 for a clean under 100k and people are posting high 20’s low 30’s
again the hell did I miss

Yeah, evo 9’s were made for ONE year. Do you know how hard it is to find a clean, well taken care of evo 9? One that doesn’t have a stupid widebody kit, been painted a custom color, hasn’t been caged, isn’t rusted, or hasn’t had 3+ owners?

no I understand but I guess I was surprised they have turned into supras all the sudden. Guess I may need to sell my ix.

Supra is in a category of it's own up there with a FD RX7 or even NSX. Evo 9 is getting up there though! We're probably talking more like S15 Silvia, Integra Type R, etc. It's value is a little hindered by the Evo 8 since they're so similar and most people will just go with that. Saw an Evo IX MR going for 40+ with as little as 1,000 miles. Car value is weird :P

Its just been the past 2 months or so. Go back to pre-Janruary of this year and yes you could find a good Evo 9 with less than 100k for less than 20. You can still but its harder to find. Wait till this fall or winter and the prices will likely go back down.

Cant see them going "back down", we arent talking about stocks here. The rise of pricing in the IX will only go up from here and there is more than a few reason for this. In Canada/Europe you can fetch anwhere from 35k all the way to 60k on the higher end for a clean evo 9. Expect this in the usa at some point. The states took them for granted ever since they were introduced there. Reasons for price increase is simple:

- Analog tuner days are DONE. 2006 was really the last year of the true raw evo, best styling of its era/unique body style. (unlike say the STI which share the same chassis as the base wrx which there are a million of. It would be like if the evo sharing the same chassis as the base 2006 lancer...ew)
- stock examples willing to sell are damn near impossible to find.
- Evo was under rated from the start, resulting in most being hacked up, crashed, driven to astronomical miles creating a supply shock (which will continue IMO)
- OEM Parts are being discontinued resulting in bidding wars for even a messed up salvage car.
- This platform is just as capable if not more in some cases than the gtr, supra, fd3s line. It can be compared in production numbers, specs and following. Price is just finally catching up.

I currently have an evo 9 gsr that I wouldn't give away for almost any offer (probably something outrageous) Since I see the future value in these cars. I Myself would pay up to 50k for a low mileage evo 9 rs. This was my first evo which I was very attached to and since crashing it I told myself to stay on the hunt for another one.

Yeah I can only see them going up in value as there are less and less decent examples out there.

Surely explains why I've struggled to find some parts, definitely not letting my IX go anytime soon!

Mine fits all those categories. Stock body, stock paint (in pretty damn good condition), no cage, no rust, and single owner.

Must be worth a small fortune.

My Evo is almost the same except I am the fourth owner. People keep going up to me and go, "Wow thats a RS it must be worth a lot of money!"

In my mind, "This car has crank windows and is so inconvienient to use. You would lose of all that amazement if you owned one."

I just think that its funny that people have to pay more for a stripped out racecar nowadays as well.

In Germany prices skyrocketed in the last 2 years. In my opinion Evos were always underrated compared to a Skyline or Supra. Seems that the Evo IX is the chosen one of the Evo range to follow in their footsteps. If a R34 GTR is worth 150.000 dollars, why would an Evo IX only be 20.000 dollars? Its absolutely true that it is really hard to find a good evo. No rust, no tuning, no accidents, full service history, low owners, low mileage and well taken care of. I have a 2006 Evo IX in what you guys would call wicked white. There were - in total - 23 white Evo IXs delivered in Germany brand new from the dealer. Mine has 40.000 miles, two owners, only small basic mods. Only been modded once in its life by the same tuner. No rust whatsoever, really good overall condition. How many of those are left? Like 5, maybe 10? With the a wide hardcore fanbase the market for these has only grown in the last few years, so its a natural conclusion that prices are going up. In Germany a clean Evo IX like mine goes for around 50.000€. Weirdly Evo 8s are much cheaper at around 35.000€. Evo 7s even more so.

Regards from Germany,

André
