holding the RPM doesnt really build boost, even if you floor it at the end, it only builds a small amount of boost. What you have to do is floor the then let up over and over and over and quick enough to maintain 5500 rpms.
Flooring the pedal is what builds your boost, and letting off is what keps you from bouncing off the limiter like crazy.

I will not even read this tread.... here we go again....
Stock clutch? dump it! i got 26.5K miles on my car, still stock clutch..yhhh ee...
If you try to slip the stock clutch?? you will burn the sucker in no time.
I cant belive people burn the clutch withing 5000 miles learn how to drive
Aftermarket clutch? exmp: ACT 2600? you have to slip it otherwise transfer case
or trannie will hate you!
thats all.

I got 1.6 bone stock before.... Just gotta read the tree good and launch it.
Sometimes there is a way where you could beat the green before the tree turns green.
Of course, its not the pro tree, those things are nuts.

The reaction time starts when the light turns green, but the actual time starts when you do...
So if you sat for 5 mins after the light turn green then ran a 13.0 1/4. Your time would say 13.0, but you probably lost the race

Gotcha! So even if you suck at reading the tree and lets say you were the only one running on the track you could just disregard the light (in theory) and launch when you are ready, even though that would be dumb...

But yeh, it's all about the launch. I think the goal is to be consistantly fast.

with a big old parachute in the back. the engine sounded like it was gonna stall and sounded like an airplane when he warmed his tires up. the tree went to green, but he was still sitting there revving up his engine. he prolly sat passed the green for a good 4 seconds then launched. he still got a 8.96 1/4 mile time. so it doesnt really matter when you leave the line if you are looking for good 1/4 mile times.
