Congrats Curt.. Its only a matter of time that someone hits a 10 on a stock or stockish turbo.. Old school power tricks make the biggest difference.. Good driving can't hurt either. The one major difference is you get to make these bad-assed runs, and still not have to compromise street manners for the most part.

Even if I saw the timeslip, I don't believe CB did that time/mph on only his advertised mods. He has something up his sleeve, whether it be nitrous or a heavily modded stock turbo (bigger compressor, etc.) Also, massive weight savings could have helped dramatically.
As someone I like on the forums, you need to check reality. You doubt this because it's so much slower than Vishnu's times? David Buschur has several cars in the 11's on the stock turbo. The EMS really gives a huge advantage (although not the best for cold-weather daily drivers). To give you an idea of how much of an advantage the WHP numbers Vishnu put down on TT's dyno were significantly lower than EMS equipped cars. Now add the Buschur stage 4 package, a Magnus intake manifold, Curts driving and Davids tuning, this gives you 11.3 @ 122.

I'm amazed someone hasn't went for the 10's on the stock turbo with nitrous.

I have to say thumbs up. I just want to know how you did it. 10's are my goal on stock turbo but it looks like your going to beat me to it.

Great times and good to know that the stock turbo is capable of such times in the right hands. BTW Are you still on the stock tranny, stock gears and how much she weigh. Just wondering. FWIW Curt you are definitely in your own league.

Metaphysical, I like you and have a lot of respect for you too (especially your sig ). I know that Curt is a phenomenal driver. I'm just surprised that so many people just accept a such a high MPH without question. It is not a Vishnu thing at all. All the top AEM mph are 114 to 118 on the stock turbo. It just seems kind of obvious that when someone runs 124, that he is using some other such aid... Come on, Buschur managed 117.8 on an AEM map tuned within' an inch of it's life.

My simple point is this: this is not the typical racer. He has tricks up his sleeve that he doesn't feel the need to share with us. Or, he has removed 500 pounds from the car, or has changed transmission gearing...

Curt, isn't your car the one that has the external wastegate welded on the manifold? Does it help the stocker hold boost better?

Stock wastegate, stock trans, ported stock turbo, Tial BOV, and never used nitrous on any turbo car. Car is 100#'s or so lighter than stock. BR stage 4 parts are lighter, no spare, lightweight wheels, lightweight brake rotors. VP c-16 fuel is used, 21 psi for boost(tested no leaks). Last time out had a few little leaks, wouldn't hold 20psi, with such a small turbo you can't have any leaks.

I thought this was your car that's why I asked if it had an external wastegate.

Very impressive non the less.
