Any thing below 1.6 is pretty rediculus on a stock clutch!

I blew a 1.67 60' on bone stock car...then proceeded to miss 3rd gear and net a blazing 13.8 qtr run! I suck! In the next three runs before I went home, I couldn't get anywhere near the 1.67...1.78 was my 2nd best all day. That was the only time I took the car to the track.

It's all in how "deep" you stage your car. Roll injust enough to turn on Staging light=Good 60' time, poor reaction time. Roll in until prestage light goes out=deep staging=poor 60' time but great reaction time, and in some racing orginazations, red light, automaticly. The key is to be consistant on your staging procedure.

I'm no drag racing expert... why would deep staging give you a poor 60 foot, your car is closer to the 60 foot mark so your 60 foot time should time lower, right? Also your et should be better with a deep stage right? I sure don't do either, shallow or deep, I'm going to try next time I go to the track though.

Im sure most of these low 60ft times are from dropping the clutch, but unless you have the $ for repairs, I wouldnt recommend it..

Its not that bad as long as you dont wheel hop. That is where you will have problems. It is just a matter of launching it at as high rpm as you can with minimal wheel spin. Best I have been able to do is about 1.73 or so, but my best run so far was with a 1.8 unfortunately.

If you shallow stage, you have a very small distance to pick up a little speed untill the clock actually starts ticking. If you deep stage, right when you move the clock starts.

What he said,to the T.Very shallow staging will produce lower 60' times and lower ET's as you actually have a rolling start when you break the staging beam and the clock starts.Bad part is your RT. sucks unless you know how to compensate for it.
As far as getting the most out of your 60' time chase the clutch lift with the throttle.
You dont actually dump the clutch, you just slip it real hard.DOWNside is your clutch doesn't last all that long, upside is your tranny and transfer case do What is cheaper, clutch or transfer case? I know which one I am getting good at changing

That depends on what kind of clutch you buy heh. My clutch was about the price of a TC.
