Question NHRA and Nitrous question

I need to know if NHRA considers the Lancer's trunk to technically be part of the passenger compartment (seats do fold down after all) therefore requiring the use of a blow down tube. The last thing I want to do is show up for Grudge Match Tuesday and not make it through the tech inspection. I've checked NHRA's Sport Compact rules but this isn't a sanctioned (ie points) event. All the tracks rules state is "street legal with DOT tires" and "basic safety requirements". This is a one time thing to spank my buddy with his Hemi Ram. I never want to hear the phrase "You got a hemi in that?" again in my life. He's pushing about 400hp at the crank (no he isn't stock) and my RA is putting about 150hp at the wheels stock... add a 75 wet shot+ CAI on drag radials plus any extra hp I can scavenge with my eManage and I should mop the floor with him no prob. I don't want to spend the extra money on the blow down tube if I don't have to. Like I said this is a one shot deal for the nitrous at least. If anyone knows the official answer I would REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks,

AMG

Oh yeah... Nos don't always go boom. Nos+crappy octane+too much, too often=BOOM...

Agree with BadazzCR except if you do not want to drill a hole in your trunk, you are allowed to vent into the trunk if you have a bulkhead at the back of your rear seats to protect the drivers compartment. You can use a sheet of mild steel and can be bolted or welded in.

Sorry for the late reply. I hope was hoping for a different answer but I guess it aint coming! Thanks guys, since I'm trying to put less holes I guess the bulkhead is out. I never thought about the fold-down seat coming back to bite me in the butt! Has anyone tried mounting the bottle and blow down in the tire well? There's allready a hole for the hold down, but I guess they wouldn't allow a "mounting plate" to be mounted there either would they? Is there a minimum number of fasteners required? I know I'm being a cheese monger, but let's face it, N2O in a NA is cheesey. I'm trying for the easiest install and removal of the kit. I'm the kind of guy that would push the button on my way out of work just to get to the stop light first, much less once it turned green.... I need to keep the car together for a couple years so I can trade up to a real Evo so the fun can really start! Thanks again for the info,
