Yeah Cobras are pretty quick even on street tires. What usually happends is that the EVO gets the jump (assuming you launch the vehicle correctly) and the Cobra chases the EVO down, even stock for stock this happends, with a couple of mods on the EVO, the EVO can hang on alittle longer. Then again Cams and ECU tuning will do wonders to the EVO, but then again the same can be said about the pulley on a Cobra. It's all complicated it just depends on where each is at in their progression of tuning.

He has been ***** footing around. I have asked him out to the track five times. He said he is coming up when we met on the 8th at SAR. I will bring the digital camcorder. It will be fun if he losses, I will post it up on the SVT forum. Not to much done to the car. Mainly just a TBE, MBC, and ECU custom tune.

i have a friend who goes 12.0 without nitrous and stock pulley.. 11.7 with a 60 shot and still on the stock pulley... even with cams, i didn't stand a slightest chance... from a stop or a roll.... and i pull 1.8 60 fts... thats when i had an evo
hmm. i guess it must either be driver reaction or a bigger turbo. i was able to pull 1.6 60 fts with an afc, crazy tuned by me; crazy meaning that i overdid the numbers for trying to save on fuel. i wonder if it's dangerous for my car???

I have also seen them run 13.8-14.2 stock. I have also seen pullied ones run low 13s and high 12s. Depends on driver track and conditions. Just do not run him from a roll and the odds are in your favor.

My friend at work did the same thing. Always had an excuse for not running. He has pulley etc with 480 whp and 500 tq at this point and still has not ran his 03. I even said lets go from a roll and we can never hook it up. Oh well FWIW I have beaten up on every Cobra so far but those Whippled and KBed Cobras will likely own me. I have been lucky so far. Oh yeah one did beat me by a fender when my car had a lil misfiring issue but after a 2.5 60 ft and being down 4 cars early i still made a race of it.

U gotta let us know when ur friend's ********* drop and he decides to race u on the track. I've seen a video with an '03 cobra with a passenger in the car run a 12.8, so u should be able to take him with a good launch, that is if ur car runs better than 12.8 to begin with.

well my friend has 315 drag radials, solid axle, I/H/E no cats, shifter, ice box (like a bigger intercooler), and a few other non hp bolt ons...

if he wanted to, he could pull a 1.7 60ft.. but his axles are stock, until he gets the rest of his rear end built and suspension tuned, he'll be able to reach 1.6 safely... he blew up his IRS rear end, thats why he deosn't want to blow this one up even though it's alot stronger than the IRS..

i spoke with an old friend today, and he said he ran a 12.2 @119, AND he said he had a mis-shift or whatever. he said he has the smaller pulley, full exhaust and chip oh and drag radials. He said he was sure he could run 11's without any mistakes. he hasn't been back to the track though cuz the misshift bent some type of fork in the tranny??? he had to buy a new one and he's afraid he's gonna break more shiz if he goes back.

We all have our demons to contend with when it comes to reliability issues and racing. People think that Cobras can take more abuse than Evos but both cars have their fragile characteristics. Mainly both have drivetrain issues and stellar blocks/motors to make enough power to f-up the drivetrain. Both cars when abused can be maintenance nightmares IMO.
