ct9a gsr that's great that you are running 12s, I added your name to the 12.00-12.99 list, please people if your EVO is running 12s and faster and your not on the list, let me know so that I can add you-

One thing that still bothers me is that I've noticed I'm one of the slowest trapping Evo's for my ET. Almost every Evo I've seen and know that run in the mid 12's are all trapping much higher than me... in the 109mph's or higher. I don't understand why... I can never trap over 107 and barely even hit 107 as it is... but I run consistant times in the 12's... rawr!

Just curious, what specific rpm do most of you folks shift at in each gear specifically, on a stock turbo setup? If I can learn how to trap higher, maybe I can break into the 12.4's or 12.3's with my same setup.

I guess I never really look where I'm shifting, I just go until it seems like it's ready Except for 1st gear, I think my natural tendency is to shift at around 7000 - this vid is roughly 1/8 mile:

that just says that you are driving the hell out of it. i ran a 12.40@108.1. did that with a 1.70 60' time. if you have a better ET with a lower trap, thats a good thing.

also, it depends on where you stage. if you shallow stage(barely make the light come on) you will run better ETs with your trap but have worse R/T and better 60'.

if you deep stage(keep moving a little after light trips) then you will have higher ET with your trap.

some people just don't stage right, launch right and all that to have the best ET with thier trap.

Special thanks to Giovanni aka IHATEPORSCHE for giving me great launching recommendations.

Want to tell me how you build boost while revving your engine at a stand still when boost is generated by load on the car?? I have a boost gauge and can sit there parked and rev my engine all day and build no boost. Only thing that changes is the vacuum

i think he means increasing rpms to the desired range where boost comes on once you engage the clutch.

Start slipping the clutch, not enough to move, but slip it.
