Guy wants to race me for cash

DISCLAIMER: I do not condone street racing nor do I take part in it. This is not a street racing thread.

First off, I am a quiet guy and do not talk crap about my car saying it is faster than anything on the street. Apparently other people do though. My buddy's brother just came over telling me that someone wants to race me for $1000. I don't have that kind of cash but my buddy's bro does. The car in question here is a Dodge Magnum Hemi V8, not specified what transmission, not too sure how the car is built. Anyway, the race will be conducted on a closed course sometime in the future. How do you guys think I will do? Mods are in my sig.

If the thing is stock and not bottle fed or anything. You will straight bend him over the counter and proceed to straight rape him without lube...and probably pull his hair a little.

Lol, wait until you get the On the way mods: Hallman MBC, Walbro 255 lph fuel pump, MR Diverter Valve, Some type of custom tune if you're running from a roll...in a straight 1/4 you're fine as long as you don't bog at the line. These cars are heavy and slow off the line, but once that Hemi gets some momentum....they're pretty damn fast. If all you have is pretty much a turbo-back exhaust and a drop-in filter...you're screwed. Those "on the way mods" will give you around 60 whp with a flash and tune. I've guessing your at around 240 WHP right now and will be around 300 WHP with the others mods, a flash and a tune. After that it's just shifting right and you'll walk away $1000 richer.

You'll take him no question. Is this a drag or circuit race? Either way the Manum's chassis and power delivery are not in the same league.

Yeah, what Kw said... they're fast, but they're overhyped as being REALLY fast... cuz of that stupid commercial where that one smokes that Esprit

Well I looked around and the Magnum SRT-8 version with a 6.1 L HEMI, which is said to make 80 more hp than the stock 340, should run in the high 13's. You have a great weight advantage, the Magnum weighs 4179 lbs. I say you win.

Current Mods: Helix V2 3" Downpipe, Perrin 3" Cat Delete with O2 fix, Perrin 3" Cat Back Exhaust, K&N Panel Filter, MR Tail Lights, UK Evolution VIII badge, 17X8.5 SSR Comp's.

The UK evo8 badge and the mr tail lights alone are enough extra horse power to smoke 'im. Heh

On a more serious note i rolled one on the highway twice, once from 60 and 70 mph. They're fast but small torque band.
