11.5 @ 118.8 dry nitrous evo
Took the DS Evo8 back to the track tonight after 2 important changes.
dry nitrous shot.
bottle heater.
Runs at street boost level (24psi dropping to 22). I had about 2 gallons of 93 pumpgas in the tank, added 3 gallons of sunoco 112 "blue". Track was sold out of 116 gas.
anyway runs went as follows:
12.498 @ 114.90 1.826 bog launch..as run off street no nitrous
12.064 @ 117.27 1.690 nitrous on in 2-3-4 gears. 30 shot
11.775 @ 118.44 1.725 nitrous on at 10mph in first gear 45shot
11.788 @ 118.59 1.709
11.524 @ 118.81 1.575 no tire spin!! all season Kumho ASX tires!
11.591 @ 119.88 1.633 spinning tires, track getting slick 70shot
11.671 @ 119.11 1.702 more tire spin, missfiring in top 4th
11.616 @ 118.68 1.710 alot of missfire before the traps in 4th
empty bottle...end of night.
well..the car ran within 25 thousanths of betting booted for no safety equipment.
. NHRA requires a rollbar at 11.499 now.

Nice run gotta love awd. I did a 1.6 60' twice now on all season 40k mile tires aw yea
I figured out the trick to shifting 2nd gear. Next time to the track im going to implement it. Keep your foot in the gas about half way while shifting.
I've never heard of an evo running a dry kit though. Usually wet kits.

Umm DSM MOTORSPORTS did you launch your kinda just slip the clutch a little to get that 60ft? Let me know how you got that sick 60ft I could run 2-3 tenths of a second fast!

As far as the gas down while shifting hurting your tranmission, I only hold it down some, I dont keep it floored. Just enough to keep it from grinding. I find if you completely lift it lets your rpms drop too much and the different is too much for you syncros to deal with so keeping the gas half way down is a good trick. If you keep it floored you might shock your tranny too much and that's what would cause it to break. Half way down and it slips in perfectly with no clunk.
