I need help racing or something =/

I put all of the parts on in my sig, then had the car custom tuned...Ran it at Cecil Raceway....13.1@107. So.....I changed my BoV from the stock one, to the MR one. Immediately after I'm getting boost spikes to 25psi. I figure my stock BoV was leaking, so I turn down the boost a full turn. At this point, the car boosts to around 22.5-23 and falls off to 20ish. When the car was originally tuned, it was tuned for 22psi for 93 octane.

Fastforward....My MR valve flutters like crazy, I hate the sound, I stick the stock air box on....Trying to save money on gas, I turn down the boost to around 17 (stupid thing still spikes to like 20 or 21 though).

Tonight I go to maple grove, I dump 3.5 gallons of GT 100 in it, turn the boost back up half a turn. It seemed to be spiking to 23 and holding at 22....or so I thought. I just gunned it going towards the staging lanes at Maple Grove...

I feather the clutch....3.5k....last yellow floor it and slip the clutch....I was at 7k in like 1 second....(thought the clutch gave in on me for a sec). I'm smelling nothing but clutch after my run.....I figure nasty launch like that is going to be some sick numbers. 13.2........................2.0 60 foot, 106.5mph This was the best I could do all night.

I bogged one, and ran a 13.3 on the other. On the way home I do a 3rd and 4th gear pull. I'm only pushing friggin 21lbs of boost. I'm so friggin nervous of going lean though, how good is the SAFC with the knock sensor and what not?

I need help basically, I need some ideas. I hate high rev dump launches, but I should atleast be running 12.9s with my set up. Sorry for the long rant.

I could help you in person, but it's hard to say what's wrong from what you've described. It sounds like you have some issues related to holding boost, but I don't know what's causing it. With an MBC, you should be able to hold your boost consistent without much spiking or tapering. I would expect the JDM MR BOV to perform well, but I dunno...there are bad apples in every bunch sometimes.

As for launching, I finally hit the sweet spot tonight when I started at 6k+ rpm, started to slightly feather, and then as soon as it started to grab, I hammered it. This is NOT a dump, but it is the ONLY way I have been able to get the stock clutch to launch well. I don't see how in the world you can start a launch from 3500rpm...that's bad juju.

Well atleast your trap speed is decent, but yeah you should definitly be in the 12s, which you could do with a little more practice and more aggressive launches (need to launch higher than 3.5K). Your trap speed could be a little higher, maybe something is wrong with the car? Now that doesn't mean your tune is f*cked up or something major, it could be something very minor than can be fixed easily. I think IE EVO said it best, when he talked about how he had bad days at the track and good days. My advice is to take your car to the track again, launch her at 6000RPM (I know you are worried about the clutch, but your also worried about if your car is performing right, so your gonna have to really launch her to test her out) and shift at 7,200-7,300RPM (Try not to shift into 5th, shouldn't be a problem on the 5-Speed).

He doesn't appear to have any tuning device (no S-AFC or flash). I think he would greatly benefit from a flash. I know it says TurboTrix tune, but what does that mean if he has no ECU mods? Does that imply a TurboTrix flash?

It's flashed, a custom flash, dyno pulled 298awhp 303ft-lbs. I need a SAFC to monitor knock I think though, so I can feel more confident running the car. Also I think I would benefit from the SAFC when I'm running race gas.

Hmm, at 298whp, you should be doing quite a bit better than I am. I dyno'd 248whp stock, and I probably have a few more ponies with the S-AFC, but that's debatable until I put it on the dyno again. With 298 alone, you should be getting more mph, but that can be limited somewhat by how well you drive it on the strip, as well as elevation.

As for the S-AFC and race gas, yes that would help a lot, because you can go much leaner than your custom flash when using race gas. I didn't try it yet, but I plan to do so just to see how far the MR with only an S-AFC can go...

Your mph is right ..for your mods.. Post up your times. . ( ie .. 60' times 330 ? ) sounds like you just need a good launch.

Mark I think I've screwed up the awsome tune that you did. I'm so scared to screw **** up so I turned the boost down...bleh

I know my launches suck, I have 2.0 60s.

60 2.021
330 5.623
1/8 8.594
MPH 81.53
1000 11.160
1/4 13.285
MPH 106.55

This is just crappy driving, I don't know wtf to do. I need to ride with someone when they launch, any volunteers? **** will any tracks even let you ride in a car that goes this fast down the track?

I should have cranked the f'ing boost up to 25lbs and just ran the **** out of it, I was running straight 100 octane, and I know Mark, you said I can run 25lbs on this tune.

107 mph is right for those mods? If I can get 106 with none of that, I think he can get upwards of 110, depending on that 4-5 shift.

3rd tops at 110? Good lord, the rest of us have to shift to 5th by 110, whether a 5- or 6-speed. My 3rd goes to 80-something.
