need a little more info. is your car stock? how do you launch it? what are your shift points? track conditions? but looking at your 60' time that would be a good start to work on. if you got your 60' time down to 1.7 or even a 1.8 it would drastically help.

EDIT: i just saw the weather you posted. definitely the hot weather is gonna hinder the performance.

Start by going to the Drag Racing forum. Then, if you'd like my comments, I'll be happy to provide them, as long as you can "handle the truth."

There's much to ask before diving into the details...

reaction = .158
I1 = 2.291 (work on yr launch, should be in 1.8 range)
I2 = 6.283 (1-2 shift not fast enough, should be in the low 5.x range)
I3 = 9.673
mph(I3) = 73.568
I4 = 12.501

ET = 15.064
mph = 89.120

then u should be in the mid to high 13's, and dont forget heat plays a significant role too.

So that marksae and robertrinaustin don't get mad, I'll assume that LACR is at 3000' and runs slower than any other track in the area. Add to that 91oct and nearly 100 degree heat, and you were destined for low times. The only thing that I know for sure is wrong is that although you say you launched at 5500rpm, you did not actually launch at all. A 2.3 60' means you kinda rolled of the line slowly while bogging down and waiting for the turbo to spool. With a real launch and a 1.8 60', you would at least be in the low 14s and probably around 93-95mph. This is not good for most Evos, but maybe it's ok for LACR in the summer.

The 16mph increase in the back 1/8th also means that you're severely underpowered, which could be due to a combination of factors: heat, humidity, elevation, and a slow track. There may be additional factors if this car is used, such as low boost from improper installation of the factory boost lines or an untuned aftermarket intake/bov.

Why tire pressure? I highly doubt that has any effect on his et/mph. The only factor I know of is if he were spinning his tires, but that's unlikely when he's only trapping 89mph. I don't spin my tires even when making enough power to trap 111. A 2.3 60' is caused by bogging most likely...

Pretend someone is shooting at you and launch it like you don't care. Plan on upgrading the clutch and possibly some breaking parts. It comes with the territory.

hot a$$ desert will effect your run, but you could also have an evo that doesnt perform. my suggestion is to trade in your 04 for an 05 with 0 % financing.

holy crap...i think that's the slowest run I've ever seen from an Evo

You definitely need to fix your driving but there's something wrong with your car if you trapped less than 90 mph...I know 160hp civics that trap that much
