i used to dump the clutch at about 6k and have some wheel spin as a i took off ~ best of 1.9 60'
but my new method is to bring the rpms up to like 4.5k and ease out on the clutch until the car starts to roll slightly, then i come off the clutch while flooring it
if i get it right the car wont bog or spin, it just goes

I launch by feathering the clutch out a little, around 4,000 rpm. I can only get 1.9's. Once the stupid rain stops...I hope to get out to the track again and try launching at 5,000 rpm, and a quick release rather than a feather launch.

Drop tire pressure. Rev and let off multiple times to build a little boost. Quick slip while mashing the throttle = consistent low to mid 1.7's and a few high 1.6s. Tire pressure is important and often overlooked. The next most important thing is staying in first gear out to the 60' and shifting quickly into second if you are already through 1st prior to the 60' mark.
Last time i went to the track i basically did a couple quick revs then on the UP of the last rev around 5500-6000. Let the clutch out quick and floor it at the same time. I got 1.70 and 1.71 on all season tires.
flooring it over and over to maintain about 6000-6500 rpm and let the slack out of the clutch and do a quick slip. Everytime i have been to the dragstrip and used this technique on tires with some tread i have gotten at least 2 or more 1.6 60 foots.

I blurp the throttle up and down at about 6500rpms and then mash it to the ground with very very little slip of the clutch. Gets me low 1.7s bare minimun and high 1.6s most the time. Best of 1.65 on stock clutch.
Method that works for me, is rev it between 6900 and 7500, then a quick dump. Anything under say 6000 - 6500 and it bogs. With correct tire pressure for the track and temp nets me 1.57-1.61's. On average 27 front, 25-26 rear. ACT 6 puck, can't feather it.
Like DragNRacing said tire pressures are the understated key, to little and you get a bog, too much and you get wheel spin. They have to be adjusted not only for the track, but also the conditions for the day. Front to rear pressures can also differ compared to street driving.

Very nice 60's and thanks for detailing the information! Have you found running a little more tire pressure in front helps your 60's? I have always found my front tires breaking loose first due to weight transfer and power split. I have almost always ran lower pressure in front or equal pressure all the way around. Do you possibly do it to help prevent wheel hop?

I've been doing a lot of bracket racing, so I normally get to a point where I'm comfortable that I can reproduce the run, normally a little more wheel spin, but 1.64's. Hurts the time a little, but I can nail my dial-in to within thousandths.
Yeah, of the 2 brackets I've done recently, I won the last rounds with a 12.006 on a 12.00 dial and a 11.957 on a 11.95 dial. The car will run faster then that, but I guess I have a good sense of time in my head. I hit the brakes pretty hard on those, but anyone that knows bracket racing, brakes at the end are a good thing.
For people reading this, I am the exception on how to launch the car. Most people will want to be in the 5-6k range with a mild slip. Broken parts can and will happen from the way I launch.
