First round of qualifying John ran a 8.6@176. Saturday turned into a rainout after the first round of qualifying so the second round was delayed to Sunday morning and that is when the car went 8.146@177.60 with a 1.39 60' which was good enough to make us #2 qualifier. The third round of qualifying was skipped and we went went into first round of eliminations with a bye run and John just drove the car down the track. Second round of eliminations came around and we had to run Stephane, the #3 qualifier with a 8.6, and John ended up winning that round with the 8.138@176.1 with a 1.35 60'. Next round was the finals against Gary Gardella. John gets up on the line with both beams lit and the anti-lag comes on, the car starts to leave the line really nice and then it bogs, which seemed really strange since the car was getting off the line very nicely all weekend. He finishes the run up with a 8.7@173.5mph. When John was looking at the logs a little later it came to our realization later on that the nitrous NEVER came on in the finals and the car still ran what it did.
All this happened after we spent saturday replacing a bad MSD, a leaky injector that hydrolocked the motor with methanol and sprayed methanol in my eye(I don't suggest trying it), and a last minute axle change before the second round of qualifying on Sunday. Big thanks to Sean Ivey for his help in swapping the axle, we probably would not have made it up there if it wasn't for him. So after spending Saturday chasing down problems with the car the weekend ended with great results.
