hi guys to let all know i tested my car from a roll up against a usdm evo 8 with full exhaust system(injen) also it was de-cat it had intake and it had a reflash on its computer we tested our car from 25mph to 145mph and we were head to head we test our cars in an old airfield in our country so it was not street racing!!
the guy in the usdm evo 8 2003 by the way was astonished on the performance of my car i still dont no how can this jdm models be much faster!!! anyone???
also my car is stock!!!!

 

JDM is lighter than USDM. USDM evo's body is heavier to pass strict US crash test.

 

what kind of horsepower do you think was on that usdm evo with the mods it had??

 

jdm models are just less restrictive and have a bit more power. also possibly because you're the better driver

 

From what I understand, JDM maps are what the flashes in the U.S. are based on. The map that you have is not tuned nearly as rich as ours because the evo's in the U.S. have to be able to run on 91 octane in Cali, Ariz etc..... As for the exhaust and intake, I don't know but I find it hard to believe a JDM evo make about 60whp than a U.S. evo, I can believe 20-30 but not 60 which is about what you get with a reflash, turboback and intake. BTW my car stock dynod 227hp on a dynojet and after a custom dynoflash 267hp. It is a 2003 evo 8gsr.

 

IIRC the JDM RS has a short ratio 5 speed. shorter then the 5 speed USDM and JDM 7 GSR.
145mph would be pretty much the limit of the RS gearbox whiel the GSR would prob be able to keep going. The shorter gearing would prob contribute to the better pick up

 

my car is tune for 91 octane also it says so on the owners manual but it also states that the cars 280ps was acheived using 100ron which is like 94mon!!
we did made several runs and in all runs we were head to head !!! we even change cars to see if it was not the driver!!

 

Sorry, Didn't see you had an 8rs, that makes a little more sense since you weigh about 100 lbs less. My buddy with an 05 evo8 rs with a cat back only is dead even with me( I am stock with a flash), so it makes more sense now. 100 lbs lighter equates to about another 10 horsepower.

 

i dont know what happen with that car but i believe it has to be faster than my car well who knows???

 

about the weight i put my car on a balance and with half a tank of fuel it weighted 3004lbs!!

 

The lighter weight is deceiving, it could be more than 100 lbs being JDM, I don't know. I know the computer maps on the JDM models are supposed to be way more agressive, other than the weight and the computer I think it is pretty much the same (and ayc; you have it we don't).
