Got alot of runs in. Only new mod is the act clutch. I cant for the life of me get this car to hook up now that I have the clutch. My best 60ft of the day was 1.69 and all the rest were high 1.8s.

Here was my bes run.

1.70 60ft.
4.91 330
7.60 1/8
91.4 mph
9.92 1000
11.87 1/4
115.06 mph

Best mph of the day 116.65!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweetness. I expected 1.65s with my ACT, but was only doing 1.7s, too (1.70 best). It only took a few trips to the track before I incurred the lockout problem, so let me know if that occurs.

Its really pissing me off. I thought my 60s would improve for sure. They went to ****. I was spinning so bad, grabbing rubber in every gear. Two of my runs I spun half way through 2nd. I think the ra1 tires are partially to blame. They seemed to get slippier and slippier. Could have been that they didnt vht at all today. Im gonna take it out again next week with the the buschar race chip and see if I can go 117+ traps. I want 11.6 on stock turbo bad.

Go read my huge ACT thread in the Engine/Drivetrain forum. The ACT, and all single-disk clutches, develop a major problem where you can't shift above 7000 rpm. You get completely locked out when you try - no grind, just a brick wall. It ruins the car for any form of racing that requires shifting. I am useless at the drag strip, as I can now only hit mid 12s with granny shifting, and I doubt I'll do very well at the road course later this month. Only auto-x works for me now, since I stay in 2nd gear...

Congrats, those are some nice times with your mods. When does the track down there close? You should head up north, our temperatures here this weekend were in the 50's!! I think we are lower elevation too. Do you ever come up to this part of the state?

That isn't a NHRA track is it? If it is they still don't know about me there Congrats on the 11.8 again btw, I wish I could drive that well.

I have been running the ACT clutch and my TRE tranny for 10K miles now and I have not missed one shift yet or have I been locked out. Tranny shifts effortlessly and very fast at any rpm. I regularly shift above 7000rpms. Usually about the 7500rpm mark. Before my rebuilt tranny I had the same lockout problem on my clutchmasters stage 3.

I've experienced this problem many times with ACT equipped Evos.

Very nice times, I always thought of the ACT clutch as not a great leap in performance modification, but as a strenthing in durability, but now that I've read about Warrtalon lockout problem and others complaint about the ACT, I'm having second thoughts on the durability. Anyways very impressive numbers and trap speed.

great time.....!!
from what I've found..among everyday street tires, I got the best results with the Yokohama tires that the JDM evo 7's came with.
I believe I actually got a 1.72 60ft with this tire..and for our track conditions that is great..lol

I'd imagine on the tracks up there you should be able to pull at least a 1.65
