Back from the track.....

First run of the night with just over a 1/4 tank of 91 octane:

R/T .675
60' 1.787
1/8et 8.055
1/8mph 84.479
1/4et 12.601
1/4mph 109.068

Last and best run of the night with about a half tank mix of 91 and 109:

R/T .424
60' 1.816
1/8et 8.090
1/8mph 86.516
1/4et 12.538
1/4mph 112.476

All runs were on stock clutch w/ 45k on the odometer.....needless to say I had a difficult time getting home for the clutch is now desperately in need of replacement.

Yes, we know; why did you paste them into a new response?

Warrtalon....how are you running such great times with so few mods? I know technique goes a long way, but damn! Please....share the wealth my friend, what's your secret?

I was extremely dissappointed after seeing my last run. I thought for sure at least 12.2 was in my cards, especially after running 12.6 at the beginning of the night. I wanna say the recipe was correct (higher octane, more boost, leaned it out using AFC). I'm satisfied with the trap speed, but I didn;t even shave a full tenth of a second

I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I think it's a combination of launching, shifting, gearing, and tuning. When I look at everybody's timeslips, the place I'm killing them is in the first 1/8th in both ET and MPH. Notice how you were doing 8.0s at 85-86. Well, I am hitting 7.6-7.7 at 89-91mph. This indicates a TON more power, but then my 1/4mph is usually low compared to others due to the fact that the 6spd 4th gear runs out of room at 111mph and because I don't have cams to pull hard in the top of 4th like most everyone else. It's possible that I would hit 114-115 if I had more room in 4th, but then again the turbo dies out by then without cams.

I launch pretty hard and shift VERY fast with no hesitation in power delivery, but I also think the close ratio of gears 1-3 on the 6spd make my 1/8th-mile ETs and MPHs better than 5spds with the same or equivalent power. Notice how you picked up 26mph on the back 1/8th...I'm only picking up 20-21mph. If I had the top-end power to pick up 26mph, I would be hitting 117, which would just be insane. Since I don't really have that much power, I'm only hitting 111-112 (113.7 max so far).

I picked up 28mph on the back half of a run on sunday...one of the few knock-free runs.

The car was screaming....

I can't imagine having that much power. This is why I don't mess with anyone on the highway, but I kill everyone I can in 0-60 races, heh. I'm really curious what my 0-60 was on my 7.67 @ 90.68...

Ah, this website estimates 3.36s, haha.

yeah, 7.68 is quick. best ive managed is a 7.801.

i can't figure out this high engaging clutch....i need some drag radial to keep from blowing the tires off at the line...or maybe a nicely prepped track.

did you read what i wrote in EVOONYOURASS's thread? another crappy weekend full of 12.0 runs. I don't live close enough to a track to get to keep going and trying, tuning, ect. 3 hr drive for me to any 1/4 mile track...it sucks

Yeah, I read it. They were saying the track was slick, so I don't think it's just your tires. Then again, you do have some crappy tires, too, right (not Advans)?

I know the frustration of hitting 12.0s, haha, but it's probably worse for you since you're hitting really high mph. My frustration is just that I drove well enough to hit 11s, but was held back by a stinkin rev limiter. In fact, a 12.01 means all it took was a slightly better 60' or slightly better shifting, but I wasn't able to do it. I have 3 tracks with an hour and a half, so it's not as bad as you, but to get to the closest one, I have to endure Friday rush hour traffic going around the DC beltway, which is just like the Atlanta perimeter, so it's no fun. I avoid it unless I have something specific to accomplish (like now).

Tires are descent, not advans, but not crap either. They actually do really well....it was ALL track slickness....these tires grip like crazy at the local 1/8th mile track.
