My first day at a track!

Alright yesterday was my first day EVER at a track. My car is completly stock. I've never been to a real racetrack and this was the first time i've ever tried to launch my car. It was only a 1/8 mile track and the temp was prob in the mid 50's. Just wondering what you guys think and if this is a good time. I know I could do better if I had more practice!

R- .757
60 ft- 2.176
594 ft- 8.394
1/8 ET- 8.921
1/8 MPH- 85.38

Very good run for a stock car. Your mph is very strong for a stock car on the 1/8th.

Good but you need to work on your 60ft time anything past 2 sec is slow

Sorry, I don't think it's legit. A stock Evo cannot hit 85 in the 1/8th, ESPECIALLY not on a terrible 60' and average driving. Most cars even with mods don't go that fast in the 1/8th. Here are some personal examples:

1) When I was stock, I ran a 13.1 at 104 on a 1.92 60'. My 1/8th was 8.4 @ 80. This would mean you were half a second slower but 5 mph faster in stock form...

2) When I ran 12.8 at 106.3 with an S-AFC, I only ran 8.1 at 83.9mph. Here, you would have been .8s slower while still 1.5mph faster.

3) My buddy in an MR with all the bolt-ons and cams ran a 12.6 at 113.9 last week. His 1/8th mph was only 86, and this was still on a much better 60' than you.

Normally, I would just point to the mph and say "great job," but it appears that the equipment is messed up at that track more than likely. As for the driving portion (ET), your launch was horrid, but it takes a while to learn it, so don't worry. An 8.9 is pretty bad even in stock form, but that will greatly improve when you learn how to launch.

I ran 8 times yesterday and my mph times were...

1st run-79.81
2nd-78.78
3rd-83.52
4th-80.81
5th-81.08
6th-83.14
7th-82.41
8th-85.38

The whole nite my 1/8 ET improved through each run as I learned to launch better. Im not BS on the mph for the last one but maybe it was the equipment error- I have no clue since I didnt even know that 85mph was good lol!

Try to find another track to run at, to see if your trap speed is legit. But I'm with Warrtalon on this one, your trap speed seems unreal. Go to another track, not for us, but for yourself, you never know, you could have the EVO factory freak of all EVO factory freaks.

I agree with Warrtalon, 85MPH is a very high number for a stock EVO8 on the 1/8 of mile. You should be around 80MPH at the most specially stock.

I am not trying to say that you are lying but once in a while the timeslips fail. I trap 86MPH with all my mods and I am a decent launcher(1.70 flat), I ridicule a 05 stock from a roll but apparently you are claiming that your car could trap 85 stock.. uhm..

8.9sec and 85Mph don't even match at all..

Just to let you know I ran last night and trapped 85 as well in the 1/8th. I have all the bolt-on's minus cams (Intake, TBE, Boost Controller, SAFC) and I was running 8.3 @85.7, the rest of your runs are about right (maybe even a little high) but if you did trap that high without mods ( and there was no equipment error ) then you definitely have a monster evo.

Did you stay in 3rd for all your runs?

Wow, this just got more interesting. So the timing was accurate for your runs but not his? It's also amazing to see that not only did he run 85MPH, but also 83MPH twice, which is also very high for a stock EVO. I don't know, I still think it's probably a mistake, but it makes me think again, when another EVO from the same track and same night, runs a realistic time. Still another run at a different location by the author of this thread should clear this all up, until then I don't know, but leaning towards mistakes made at the track.

***Woops my bad, I saw IL and thought it said FL, so I was thinking you guys went to the same track. Mistake, so now I really think it was timing error.***
