I don't know maybe because I'm a slow shifter and a sucky drag racer Maybe someone with more experience could shed some light on this. Also those runs with a 12.93 @ 105 were with a 1.75 60'. However, at another track that is faster for some reason I ran a 12.68 @ 107 with the exact same 60'. It's not in my sig because it's a track I've only been to once and I haven't been able to repeat it.

Also, no power shifting for me...heck I don't even know how to power shift. I'm also on the stock clutch at 32k on the odometer. I usually shift anywhere from 7300 rpms to 7500 rpms and this is on 92 octane running with 21.5 PSI tapering down to 17-18 PSI.

Yea 103 is pretty low. I hit 106.2 with just intake and exhaust on my 05 but only a 13.017 with 1.91 60'. First time at the track as well.

Something is very wrong with your top-end. You freakin trapped 87mph in the 1/8th, which is crazy good, yet only gained 17mph in the back half. You were on track for a 12.5-12.6, but you lost a ton of power. With the same mods as you, I also hit 86-87mph in the 1/8th on pump gas, but then trap 108-109 in the 1/4. I only pick up 21-22mph, which isn't great either, but only picking up 17mph indicates some definite problems in 4th gear. You could be knocking, but that is not likely, since you have a dynoflash and your boost isn't cranked up too high. If you actually had your boost set to 23psi or something, then I'd point to that. Since you don't, then I'm not sure what the deal is.

Regardless, good job for your first time. It is very difficult to learn how to launch an AWD car, so cutting 1.8s is great. There's plenty of guys here who still can't hit a 1.8, and therefore still can't hit 12s.

Come on, you can't say that. You are making tons of power at the 1/8th, but then losing it all in 4th gear. His 12.9 at 105 is very good. He probably only got 81-82mph in the 1/8th, which is much slower than your car.

No, 7k is good. I do 7100-7200, but neither of us should shift any higher, because we don't have cams. This is not a cause for your low MPH.

I'm curious, though. How do you know how to powershift 1-2/2-3/3-4 when you've never drag-raced this car before? I don't even bother trying the 1-2 without a tuning device set for NLTS, but I do a semi-powershift (part-throttle) on the 2-3 and full powershift on the 3-4, because those are much easier, but I've done almost 100 drag passes in my Evo...

What you need to do is log your runs. You would need a logging device like a pocketlogger, so I could see your AFRs and timing. Seeing an in-car vid probably wouldn't help.

Maybe; maybe not. You can't just take 1/4-mile et/mph in a vaccuum. You have to look at the whole timeslip. Generally, to get a 12.8@103 in our car, you would need a 1.60 60' followed by perfect powershifting or something ridiculous like that. This type of run would have an 8.1@80 type 1/8th-mile. But, you have an 8.2@87, which means you are making great power for half the track, but then your car falls flat on its face in 4th. That is unless you are hitting the brakes early or something, and you don't even realize it.

YEah, the fastest stock evo I saw on paper was 13.0 @105 mph. Thats pretty sweet if youre into the twelves with only managing 103mph.

When I was looking at your slip your trap had me confused. All I have is a drop in panel filter, open rsr downpipe, dynoflash, and a jdm mr bov. I think you have basically the same but with an intake, mbc, and fuel pump.

Just so others know these are both the same track, same day, only minutes apart.

This is my slip:

R/T...... .816
60' ...... 1.882
330' .... 5.394
1/8 ......8.322
MPH ....82.36
1000 ..10.876
1/4 .....12.997
MPH ...105.79

Yours:

R/T......067
60'......1.844
330.....5.335
1/8......8.207
MPH....86.93
1000'...10.733
1/4......12.848
MPH......103.57

I really didn't get how you could be so much faster then me in the 1/8th and then I would trap more then 2 mph higher in the 1/4. I made up about 6 mph in the back half. I don't get it.
