2.0 GT35R vs 2.4 HKS 3037

Sorry if this is the wrong forum...mods please move it to the right forum.
Im just curious as to which car would win from a rolling race from 2nd or 3rd gear pull. I have a friend who has a Evo8 MR 6 speed and mine is 04 5 speed. If I were to run him which car you think would win....if we race it will be at a closed road course.

My mods are: Stock 2.0 bottom with fully built race head, TBE, HKS 272 cams, HKS cam gears, Ferrea 1mm oversized racing valve with 3 angle valve job, Crower springs and retainers, ported stock intake manifold, Exedy Twin clutch, alky injection, Greddy FMIC and Shearer GT35R running 28psi.

Friends mods are: HKS 272 cams, cam gears, TBE, HKS fmic, HKS Kansai intake manifold, HKS GT3037, Ralliart twin clutch and 2.4 motor running 22-23psi max.

The 2.4 should have more out of the hole, and should pull ahead of the 35R through 2nd gear. The 2.0 should fly by maybe by the end of third.

The 2.4 will have more torque, the 35R more power if tuned right on the same gas. In first and 2nd the car is propelled more by it's torque. Once moving it stays longer in each gear which gives the the advantage to hp and top end, which the 2.0 should have.

The 2.4 will have full boost by 3200 rpm, the 35R I would think by 4500. If it's a tight course the 2.4 has an advantage.

Of course it's not really fair with you running Alky. That's like having race gas vs. pump gas and gives you the added advantage of more boost.

You'll have fun finding out but I wouldn't bet the farm. Bottom line is the long gear is to your advantage, short gear his.

Why not just race and tell us how you did? I think you will lose, at leaset I hope you do.

Check out the term 'Brake Boosting,' and learn how to do it. If successful, you should start out with full boost and effectively 'whomp' him. (It has do do with holding the brake while accelerating.) I guess it's kind of cheating, but who cares, you have the bigger tubo and should win anyway.

According to the conditions you posted, in my experience of lots of roll racing, you'd destroy him... absolutely destroy him.

I think there is good advantage of having built 2.0 liter vs built 2.4 liter on big turbo such as GT35 for drag racing or highway run. A stoked 2.4 liter will have faster spool thus making more power but 2.0 liter will hold the boost till higher RPM using the full potential of GT35. Isn't the fastest AMS, TurboTrix, and Sheperd all 2.0 liter.

But in your case if its only 2nd and 3rd he'll probally beat you. But Game Over for GT30 at 4th gear.

Not that I *really* care about this thread but...

You're comparing a GT35R @ 28psi vs GT3037R @ 23psi from a ROLL... where turbo lag should be very trivial to non-existant. It should be quite obvious that you won't have any trouble pulling away... by a significant amount of cars.
