Stock Evos aren't running on dragslicks either

Some people came from Hondas/Acuras. Don't take a few peoples opinion for general fact.

I had a highly modified 02 RSX and loved it. No hate here..

I love how you guys think it is some personal attack because you own a Honda... its because you made a post about two 13 second cars racing in a bracket race. Its a stupid video... on top of that, you were the slower of the two. What do you honestly expect to hear? Congrats on hitting stock Evo times with your highly modified Honda? Congrats on running a slower time but technically "beating" the other car? Come on.... Contribute to real topics and talk without saying how great your car is.... then people wont be so mean to you. And dont post stupid, pointless movies of slow cars. No one likes that.

Thanks buddy, I appreciate it.

I am actually proud of what i've done with my car so far... gone from a stock 15.0 car to a 12.7 is not bad and with not that much invested. It would be compared to a stock 13.0 Evo running high 10's... and thats impressive!!

No... getting from a 15 to a 12 doesnt take much.... getting from a 13 to a 10 takes a WHOLE lot more. I kinda wish it was that easy though Taking 3 seconds off a time isnt linear.... otherwise making an 8 second car run 5s should be pretty easy

You were joking when you said this, right? 15 to 12.7 is equivalent to going from 13.0 to 10s??? Haha, that HAD to be a joke.

And you don't have much invested in your RSX? Didn't you tell me earlier that you have too much invested in the RSX to sell it and get an Evo that would run just about the same times in stock form? Hell, the IXs CAN and WILL run 12.7s stock once someone good takes a stock one to the track. We've already seen several 12.9s with poor launches and average driving. A IX with just a flash ($299) can hit the 12.7 even with average driving. Add an MBC with that flash and set it at 21-22psi, and you can run 12.2-12.4 with good driving. When you said "not much invested" on your RX, is that what you meant? $400 or so?

Even if we stick with an 05, which can still be bought new for VERY LOW cost, you can beat 12.7s for about a grand. I went 12.2 with a cat-back, mbc, and safc on race gas. Anyway, this thread still is pointless. It was a good bracket race, but it is in no way interesting to see, especially not to Evo owners. Both cars are slow...

how fast do you think you can get an Evo 8 to go in the 1/4 with around 5-7g's?

Its not worth explaining anything to you anymore. Just go bother other people on some Honda forum. Your speech is making me dumber than I already am (Trust me... I aint all that smart to begin with).

I've done 12.000 (race gas) with $1500. Add cams for 11.7s (race gas)and you're at $2100. After this, maybe a few more boltons to get to 11.5, but the returns are diminishing, so you're around $3000. After this, you need a turbo upgrade, so the cost of a good turbo with the needed accessories will probably take you up to 7k. Then you could do low 11s or high 10s, but that's at the point where the drivetrain becomes an issue.

Basically, the best thing to think about is 11.5s for $3k with good driving.

Well since War decided to price it out I will too the cheaper way

Used EMS w/ map sensor - $1000
Dynotime - $300
No exhaust - free
Remove Evap/Wing/Bumpers and other trinkets... keep full interior - free
Lock wastegate shut - free
DragRadials - $450
Handport turbo/manifold - free
Valvesprings/Retainers - $275 (Rev car to 9k)
Com Cam 300s - $500
Large IC Core w/ end tanks (Your choice) - $599 (Weld on your own little tabs $10)

With VP Import Race Gas and great driving you could hit a 10 with this. You could hit mid 11's without locking the wastegate and running a reasonably safe tune.

Total cost: $3134

So there is your cheap build. Add an Ebay exhaust if you want it to be street driven and still quick (Ebay downpipe $100, Ebay Catback $170, weld in your own testpipe $25).
Your still at $3429 for a solid 11 second car all day everyday. Thats probably cheaper than your turbo kit alone for your Honda.

Oh, and if you could find someone competant enough to flash the car to the level you need you could skip the grand for the EMS... this would bring your total down to $2134 or w/ a full mandrel bent Stainless turboback exhaust brings it to a whopping $2429 to run solid mid 11s all day everyday. With good driving and a solid tune youd be at low 11's/high 10s.

Trina, that suggestion was nowhere near reasonable. At least try to keep it reasonable, you know?
