First time running the IX at LACR

Just got back a couple hours ago. My car is completely stock and this track is notorious for being horribly prepped. It is also almost 3,000ft above sea level!! Time's are drastically effected but they have some bs formula on their website or something that you can correct it with. I had my 5k rev limiter disconnected. I got 4 runs in, 3 of which I managed to miss 2nd . God I couldn't believe it lol. My best run was a 13.5@100.888 missing 2nd with a 60ft of 1.951. I know that with a better 60 that could have easiely been a 13 flat or .1 . This was all on **** gas 91 octane here in socal. I had a great time overall, a little more crowded then expected for that pos track. I'm positive most CA members on here know how bad this place is loll .

Altitude Correction
LACR is 2,710 ft. above sea level.
To figure the altitude factor the formula is as follows:
ET: multiply your et (at LACR) by .97
MPH: multiply your mph (at LACR) by 1.03
This will give you the ET & MPH at sea level. (taken from lacr.net)

p.s don't mind the stains loll, that's what happens when it's sitting on the table at In n Out lol.

Wow that is an amazing time for LACR with a 1.951 60 ft. With a better 60ft you could run low 13s, which is outstanding at that track. Wow the IX never ceases to amaze me.

yeh basicly if u wee at se level u would have run like me...a very low 13's run @102-103mph

good run
but how do u manage to miss 2 second gear? take it easy and it s ll go right in.
Do u have a 5 speed or 6speed?

Damn, that's amazing. Missing a gear completely throws off your time and mph. I have no idea how you still got a 13.5@101 after missing a gear. Missing a gear drops about half a second and a few mph off your time.

Btw, altitude correction only applies to non-turbo cars, just fyi. Our cars are affected, of course, but not as much as NA cars, so we can't use those corrections. I'll be interested to see how much better you do with a real launch and without missing 2nd.

Wow, those times are impressive for a stock IX at Palmdale with 91 octane. I was happy doing 13.20's @ 103 on 91 octane when I raced there. With some more runs/practice you'll be dipping down to the low 13's on 91.

Thank's guys. Ya but their so-called "Street Legal Drags", which is basicallly the Saturday's they are open, is not happening for another 2 months or so. California Speedway is an awesome track and it was open last Saturday. I went but it started to frickin pour and got cancelled .

yes it does Warrtalon, I have been to that track many times. you boost lower out there. my car is set as 21psi on 91 piess gas. out there in LACR, my car would boost like 18-19psi for some reason, so i have turn up the knob and and redo my SAFC map.

nice pass in the ix at palmdale. I was there a couple weeks ago and witnessed the fastest stock evo I have ever seen there. 13.33 @100 by a guy named steve in 05'. This is a track that usually shows 14's on the board for most stock evo's/sti's.

That's good info. This means that most of the people who go there just can't drive, but they use the "slow track" excuse to explain their poor driving. That 05 can really drive, and his 100mph trap does show that the track is slower due to elevation and/or octane (not the track itself).

It worked out awesome Brian. Thanks for your help bro. I'll meet you out at Fontana next time for sure and get some more runs in . By then I'll have much more practice. BTW, I still have it disconnected lol. I think I could have easiely done a 13 flat there with better driving. Now imagine that run at Fontana lol.
