i have two friends that have pustangs...one with a mach 1, the other with a 05 gt. my barely modded car walks both of their cars in ANY situation. even a top end race! off the line...there is almost no competition, even from a 20mph roll i had at least a car length on both of them. that's the truth!
needless to say...the friend with a 05 mustang just traded it in for a 06 RS

....... I thought us Cobra & EVO owners already went over this subj. on the Cobras are OVERRATED thread..... Oh and to the guy talking about racing his friend in a '93 Cobra and him keeping up with you how does it feel to barely beat a 13-14 year old car? '93 Cobras are slow compared to todays standards however they are popular for their collectability (First SVT Cobra). I have lots of respect for you EVO guys but when it comes to drag racing us RWD cars when driven properly with similar amounts of mods will beat you. Twisties = whole new story and I :Bowdown: Oh and for the record if I was a betting man I would say that Ford continue to build mustangs however I fear that after the release of the GT500 there wont be another Cobra for a while. I dont think Ford would entirely shut down their Pony production. I am a car enthusiast and give respect when it's due but to say "The truth is the mustang GT, Mach, cobra, etc will never out perform an Evo" is a lie. From a Roll a TT 04 Cobra will own just about any EVO that im aware of. WITH THE EXCEPTION of the AMS EVO......altho I know of one Mustang that should be finished by beg./middle of summer that will take him.

That's the problem with a highly produced car like Mustang. 97% of the owners that mod them only change the exhaust and think they have a fast car that can own any Evo/STi/whatever out there. After about $20,000 in mods for my Stang, I kinda just laugh at them

the only mustangs i realy like are the 03 cobras.. they can be real fast with upgraded blowers. The old fox bodys are cool too cuz they are so much lighter than the other stangs.

I dont think you will be able to take the AMS EVO which is what I was refering to about someone being able to take him. Neither of us will be able to ALTHO once I get my next block (Ford GT 5.4) AMS EVO wont really be a problem... but by the time I get it GOD only knows how fast the AMS beast will be running.
