Another benchracing question

Since everyone else here benchraces I figured I might as well too. Looking at my logs from last year at the track when the POS ran the 11.5 it took .8 seconds longer than it does now to get from 5400-7200 (Both times at full boost). The car now takes 2.9 seconds to do it. Considering the first log was an 11.5 how safe is it for me to presume the car will hit a 10 second pass next time out (Assuming I can still hit my crappy 1.71 60'). The car also has a much better clutch in it this time and will have alot less weight.

Sorry I cant race yet and Im getting a serious itch By the way, this is on pump gas. Anyone else have any log showing thier 5400-7200 (Or any RPM range in any gear logs) that I could compare mine to? Im curious to see how my POS actually stacks up (Granted these pulls are about 90-120 so dont go get arrested on my account ).

1.71 isnt so bad its gonna kill your ET horribly, with that much power, your spinning so much out of the whole, its gonna be hard to get a better 60ft then that. as long as your in the low 1.7's, i wouldnt worry about it too much. 1.60 would be great, but its probably not gonna happen without some sticky tires aired down (if your not aleady running these) I dont have any logs to compare but I'd think a 10.9 is squeezable given your history of power making.

I don't know, Trina, you know as well as anyone how hard it is to get everything just right down the strip with that much power. I really don't see how you can make enough power for 10s on pump gas. The GT35r can't even get into its real powerband on pump gas.

If it was warm enough I would. By pump I meant pump w/ alchy

The car is getting lightened some, trunk cut out, fuel cell installed, extra interior stuff removed, etc.. The cage is adding alot of weigh but I still think I can get it to 2950 or so without me in it. I am also cutting out the rear dash and whatnot and replacing it with a lightweight bulkhead. Stupid car is finally making power and getting lighter and now its too cold to do anything with it. I might resort to yanking the motor and building it before the season starts.

As for the tires they are crap *** Sumitomo tires... I will probably be running the BDG Drag Radials next year.

At least since the tracks arent open yet it gives me time to finish the car making it so it is actually prepared to run at the track, not using a junk clutch, a leaking upper IC pipe and everything else that was wrong with it before. I plan to be shifting the stock motor at 9k or so as well which should help with both the ET and MPH compared to last year shifting at 7.25-7.5k This is all a big learning experience for me but I dont see why this thing wont run mid to low 10s this year. Only time will tell.

I will also take some pics of my car once it gets out of the fabricators hands. Should be neat looking. Ill also get some pics of the DSM that Im bringing there to have turned into a sled car
