Congratulations, nice times. You'll get some better times the next time you go back. Did you meet up with SlowCar at the track and did you see what times he ran?

Warrtalon, it's not hot in AZ right now. Last night at the track it was in the mid 40's. Our high today is supposed to be in the mid 70's.

That 110 mph is pretty quick, especially for the minimal mods you have Cloudy. I have only seen one other stock turbo Evo go that fast here in AZ (without spraying). What kind of numbers did you make on the dyno when they tuned you?

Actually, it's not at all if you understand drag racing. Cloudy knows and you should learn that a 110mph trap with a 13.0 et is very bad. For reference, I ran 12.58 with a 110mph trap in my FWD Eclipse, haha. It doesn't matter, though, because he'll rock out later with practice.

Ya i understand for a 13 ET and a 110mph.. Thats more my car pickn up the slack then me driving..
And iam fine with that, i wasnt expecting to beat Warrtalons records, atleast not this night :P.
I just mainly wanted to see what the best ways to launch were, and iam down to 2 different ones now. And i think i did actually fairly decent for my first time ever to the track, and not much knowledge on drag racing.

Evotio,

I picked up Slowcar(Abner) in Tucson and invited him to watch me at the track. Slowcar's Evo is not ready yet so I called him yesterday to invite him to come with me and watch, I also took my girl to film my passes.

Thanks, I was hoping to see if he had some new times with his new set-up and water injection.

Hi Cloudy,

This is Carlos, I approached to you last night when we were waiting for the track to be reopen, Don't confuse me, you talked two two Silver Evo owners both kind of looking Hispanic, I was I bit taller and slimer than the other guy.

Anyway, you did well overall, You had the 5k rev limiter screwing you big time, I saw most of your runs, I saw the last one in fact. Your trap speed is very good but your launches are mediocre. I predict you are capable of mid -high 12's, it is easier to say that easier to make but I think with some practice you could manage that.

I ran the Silver MR, you probably saw me, I did pathetic, missed 3rd gear several times in all runs except one. My reaction times and my 60' and 330' were awsome r/t of .007 .030 ,.031 and 60' on the 1.7 with 5.0sec 330 feet
but then disaster strikes, 3rd gear would not engage.

Changing the subject, you should had ask me, I showed up to the track with a brand new helmet, I could let you use it next time.

pssssss you need a hair cut first... just kidding..

Carlos

He wouldn't be ready until at least mid March but I would let you know of the progress. I was talking to him the entire way from Tucson to Phoenix and he told me that he quit participating on evolutionm for a little bit.

I am also curious to see his new times.

Carlos

SPOOLIN,

Since you mentioned twice that 110 is great speed for Firebird lets compare something just for the record:

Cloudy

Evo9 Tunning(Maybe ECUTEK),full 3"TB,Air filter,MBC,104 race gas,1246' el in the 40's

Evo 8 MR Tunning,3"tb,cai,MBC, IC pipes, cams, pure 91oct ,3100ft el, trapped 109mph plus several times in the 90-100 degrees

Cloudy made 312/312 Mustang Dyno on 91oct, yesterday he was running 104oct perhaps his car was making more power/tq. My MR was trapping 109mph several times with 91 at higher altitude and much less HP and tq(before my alcohol retunning) and much hotter temp(55 degrees more).

I am not saying he ran slow, he ran very well, I am saying lets give credit to whom deserves it. Summarizing, I ran similar speeds under much worse conditions, 1900 feet higher, less WHP/TQ, 50 degrees hotter and 91oct.

SPOOLIN, the reason why I am bringing this isse of trap speed is because race gas can make a big difference, don't go any far, your own car made 41.4whp and 74.7lb/tq on a Mustang Dyno by switching from 91 to 101oct, Cloudy was running 104oct.. you see what I mean?, I want a different prospective so people can see the big difference of using race gas and how it can affect you trap speeds.

I once put 3 gallon of 99oct to my existing 5 gallons of 91oct and I gained .2sec and nearly 2mph.

Poeple from Phoenix, need to bring their cars to Tucson then we can make some good judgement

I think someone mentioned that before were they were making a group to come down here, lets make it happen.

I ended up getting 100, not 104, and mix between 91 and 100. But still better then 91 yes. And yes i remember you, and i plan to have much better times on my next visit to the track.
Lol you came up to me at the last run, where i was gonna go all out anyway, so was little to late to ask to borrow the helmet.. If only you were there 3 runs before :P.
