First time at track....

Went to the track the other day for the first time ever. My times aren't very good, but with practice they will definitely get better. I made two passes, on the first i smoked the hell out of the clutch. On the second, it went alot better, but still slipped the clutch a little more than i wanted.

60....2.07
1/8....8.78
mph...80.32
1/4.....13.68
mph.....100.59

In my defense, this was my first time ever launching the car, and first time ever at a track. I do have a quick question for you launching experts. With a perfect launch, will you have absolutely no clutch smell? After my first launch attempt, I did like most and slipped the clutch too much. Of course it smelled for a full day. Since my day at the track, I tried to launch again and did really well. However after parking the car I could barely smell clutch, which went away after a minute. The smell was nowhere near as strong as it was on my botched run, and was very faint. So I have now had three launch attempts, I've had the car for 6 months almost. I'm just nervous about fcking up the clutch, so I take it easy.

you definetely need to slip the clutch alot faster! That 60' time is way off, but like you said it was your first time at the track. Just keep practicing and you will get it. If you hit the perfect launch, you will not get any clutch smell.

try to launch the car with the limiter:

Full throttle> slip the clutch, as soon as u feel the car move let go of the clutch completly and that should be good for 1.8-1.7 60'

Let go of the clutch as in let off fast, or side step it completely.

Great time man. It will get better when you get the launch down.
