I finally cut a 1.7x 60 foot (several actually.. 1.728, 1.717, 1.79) with my '05 EVO SSL last night. I'm pretty happy.. my goal was to try and figure out the launch better. My best previous was a 1.8X 60 foot. It seems that when the track temperature is cooler I have a better 60 foot time. Well, here are my best results last night:

60 foot: 1.728
330: 5.034
1/8: 7.810 @ 87.50
1000: 10.245
1/4: 12.295 @ 110.78

**
(This run my AFR went PIG rich and that caused my timing not to advance more than 15 or 16 deg. on the top end of 4th.. lost a bunch of time on the top end)

60 foot: 1.717
330: 5.024
1/8: 7.815 @ 86.87
1000: 10.287
1/4: 12.375 @ 108.72

My car is 2005 SSL w/ Falken Azenis RT-615s, 3440 lbs w/ driver & fuel. I have a TBE, K&N, MBC, and ECU+ with my own tune on it. I was running a mix of 104 and 93 octane.

Quote: How much boost?
24 PSI pretty much all through 4th gear. (It dipped down to 22 in spots) 1.2-1.8 volts of knock for the duration. (no det. was on mix of race-gas) 11.0:1 AFR in 4th slowly enrichening (is that even a word?) to 10.7:1 AFR at 7k.

Ah, it's pretty good, but I was thinking it was on pump gas until the very last line. Still not bad, though. Most people don't go that fast even on race gas with or without cams.

Yeah.. I know the car still has more in it. I still had room for some more timing on the 12.2 run. I'm contemplating what my next power adder will be. I could continue to beat on it and try and squeak better times with what I have (which is enjoyable).. or I could just add something else and get me down closer to a 12.0. Cams maybe.. or meth. Regardless.. my main objective is to get more consistant with launching and my 60 foots. The first 60 feet sure do make the difference. I just hope my stock clutch is up for it.

Yes, the 60' means everything.

Meth won't help as much as cams, because you're already using race gas, which is allowing you to run high boost with no knock. However, meth will allow you to be that fast all the time, which is what I like. When I did my 12.01 on stock cams and SAFC, I always had to mix race gas like you, then re-tune, but now I'm just that fast 24/7.

Add some cams, but no, your stock clutch won't hold up.
