Personal best, could be better?

Went to the track last night and finally got good results. I know the times are great, but I was hoping for low 12s. I say low 12s cause of my mods. Am I aiming too high? Is it my shifting? Or was it conditions? It was 52% humidity at 6pm. Comments please...

60' 1.70
330' 5.14
1/8 8.01
1/8mph 86.47
1000 10.4
1/4 12.54
1/4mph 109.25

60' 1.82
330' 5.23
1/8 8.09
1/8mph 86.51
1000 10.55
1/4 12.59
1/4mph 110.89

trap speed is good, for reference I went 12.3 at 108, 60ft was 1.6, so little quicker shifting and you should hit the low 12

Shifting looks slow. MPH is ok at 111, but not consistent with other Dynoflashed IXs on stock cams. You can't really help that unless your shifting is affecting the mph (not likely). The reason why I point to shifting on the ET is because your 1.70 60' is very, very good, but the 12.54 at over 109 doesn't match. One of my pump gas runs back when I had the SAFC was a 12.52@108.5 but with a 1.75 60'. So, a worse 60' and slower mph, but better ET. A 1.70 60' with 109.xx mph is usually a 12.3, so it goes back to shifting. That's pure speculation, though.

I agree. The 60' doesn't match the time/trap. I'm guessing it is shifting, so I'll practice more and go back.

Oh yeah, and a tip for all of you...don't try to drag with your ACD in Gravel! It rained earlier in the day, had it on gravel, and my first 2 runs were pure wheel hop. Couldn't figure it out. Saw the ACD and felt like a jackass. After that, everything was fine.

Thanks for the comments...

Fwiw, ACD only comes into play when turning. It doesn't have any affect on launching or driving in a straight line. The torque split is always 50/50, and the settings only affect how soon the center diff unlocks when you begin turning.

Dub,

Remember that track is not a fastest track and the 100% humidity last night was not helping you at all. It was much higher than 52%. I walked outside last night and it felt like I was in a steam bath. I have ran out at that track 40 plus times and I usually see a 2-4 MPH difference when it is cool and dry from when it is hot and humid. Hopefully we will get another cold front and you can get out to the track and see the low 12's. Otherwise you are going to need to wait until winter...

Well, good to know. I settled on the ACD setting theory because during my 16 runs, I've never wheel hopped, except the 2 times with the setting on gravel. Maybe it's just a weird coincidence, but it wheel hopped bad. I'm coming from the land of fwd hondas, so the ACD is new. Thanks for educating me.

Yeah, I wheel hop, or bog, or spin, or fry the clutch - it all depends on the track prep, the track temperature, the lane I'm in, how much water is on my tires, how much clutch I give, how much gas I give, how much power I'm making, and my mental consistency. It all depends on so many factors.

I think you're right and I think its shifting. I'm gonna work at speeding up my throws. But if it ain't me or the humidity, what could it be?
