I was thinking of getting some Comp Cams. How is the idle with the 272's? Are you running cam gears?

Stock cam gears, and the idle is pretty lopey, I won't lie. But it's nothing horrible and I've always like cammed idles.

No, that's not a surprise at all. The stock tune goes from 12.5 at peak boost (3500-4000rpm) down to the high 9s or low 10s, so of course he pulled a lot of fuel up top. What I was saying is that you can't pull any fuel at peak boost, which is where we hit peak torque, so you can't get any useful timing. You hitting more torque than hp is hard to understand when you don't have anything to remove fuel at peak boost.

The peak WHP is no surprise, though. The S-AFC has no problem with that part.

Ya, that makes complete sense. Coming off of DSM's and dealing with Evo's is a whole new ballgame though.

Then my last run it hooked up decently after I dropped pressure, but I didn't want it to spin like hell so I went a little bit conservative, and it went 12.1. Here are the vids of the 12.3 and 12.1 runs. That STi called me out in the staging lanes then went on to a blistering 13.5 .

Great runs man. Was that PRP last weekend? We need to get a bunch together and run up there soon. BTW, I have the blue 05 in town.

Great runs.. you give me high hopes. I can't wait to get back to the track.. I just had some Comp 101200's and HKS camgears installed on my 05'.. but the clutch immediately went. Tuesday my exedy twin goes in. I hope I can nail a 12.0 or a high 11. Previous best w/o cams was 12.2@110. It's strange.. my comp 101200's idle like freaking stock. I am running ECU+ though and gave it some extra fuel at idle. However, I drove it around for a while with no fuel enrichment and it idled pretty close to stock. My friend with HKS 272's loped noticably more than my comps. I picked up 25+ WHP and gobs of torque on 93 octane according to my before/after dyno graph on my ECU+ software... and I haven't got my tune completly tweaked yet.

On the 12.1 run it was a 1.72, it was finally starting to hook up with the dropped pressure but I didn't get another run.

Nice runs Andrew. We are hoping to get up there for some times in the near future.
