Another Evo Gets Into The 12's!

Just wanted to share with everyone, that I finally had a chance to run my Evo at the track last night at New England Dragway, I couldn't get any traction, not sure if the track just plain sucks, or it's these falken rt615's I just put on last week, either way I'm pretty happy with my runs, enjoy the video guys. http://boston-motorsports.com/media/...Dan%2012.5.wmv

First Run:

1/4 12.567
MPH 109.44

Second Run:
60' 1.762
1/4 12.535
MPH 110.25

Join us in the drag forum. We're not terribly excited by 12s. All Evos should be in the 12s really...

Decent launch and driving. When you get some traction, you should start seeing 113-114mph traps with those power numbers, so you much to look forward to on the new clutch!

Once the Falkens get about 800 miles on them you should get much better traction. I saw you run last night at NED, nice car!

Thanks bro, what did you run?

By the way, do you have any rubbing with those 255/40's? I had ordered those, but when they came to my house, They looked really wide, so I sent them back, and got 245/45's instead.

Too bad you sent them back. There's tons of people on here running the 255/40 on stock rims without rubbing? You didn't check first? It's very, very common, especially with that specific tire. Matter of fact, mine arrive in a few days...

No Rubbing with 255/40's at stock ride height. I was in my Grand National, ran a 12.3@117. If I had the Evo I would have said hello.

Sounds like you might pick up a little time from quicker shifts. (just from the audio)

No reason to even go to the track if you granny shift. Shift as hard and as fast as possible at around 7000-7200rpm. If you get locked out, then that's nothing to worry about. It's not like you cause it do change or anything...you just find out you have the 7k lockout problem in which case you adjust the clutch rod until it stops doing it.

Agreed - I run 12.1x-12.2 at 113-114 with less mods on 235/45/17 Sumitomos. 11s are where you want to think to.

BTW - Warr are you still on the stock rims with those 255s?
