If it's faster than your Civic that ran 10.97, then it runs deeper 10s, and your Evo runs even deeper 10s. If you're just saying that Civic has more power, that's one thing, but if it's a 10s Civic, then it runs 10s at the track in the 1/4-mile.
Sir you missed my point, the civic runs 10's on 26"MTs...... at best he is a high 11 sec civic on street tires indicating that traction is an issue. This may be also true for the RX-7 (but not as severe as the civic) on street tire verses the Evo in question.

There is no question that both the RX-7 and the Civics discussed thus far are faster that the Evos in question. But on street tires these high horsepower cars may lose due to traction issues.

If you are still confused about the traction analogy use in this post, please PM me.

Couple of videos for your consideration. This is from when we rented out MIR about 1.5 years ago. Unfortunately, I don't know what the RX7 is putting down as far as WHP, but he traps at 115 and runs an 11.8, so clearly traction problems can be overcome (as evidenced by the second video )

Of course that track was sticky as a *****, for reference listen in this roll-off launch, it sounds like freaking Velcro!

Good vids. If I am not mistaken Kee1pride is a good driver running 11.8's in our Texas heat. I think it will be a good race. Let's get it on!........My money is still on the Evo......call me biased.

i own both the fd3s and the evo9 and looking through your friends mod on the fd, im sure he'll beat you anyday of the week. My fd is pretty much running on a couple of bolt ons but looking at his setup: A street ported engine, bnr stage 3s, and the rotary extreme v mount is like the perfect setup. With those three things he already remedies all of the weak points of the fd and makes it a really really quick car. Even though its non sequential the street ported engine along with all his mods will give him alot of boost even at low rpms. go race him and tell me how it is.

Will when ever I get a chance. By the way you guys are talking, I'll be adding either a buschur 20g-9-5 or alky or both before running him

Right now it would be impossible as my transmission is on its way to TRE

I still don't think that he'll hook up as easily as you guys think but what ever. Only time will tell. At least wish me good luck

By the by to the guy with the evo9 I pretty much run neck and neck with my friends evo9mr with a 3" turboback exhaust, drop in filter, forge bov, forge mbc and tuned by dynoflash.

power to weight ratio: even if he does have street tires, you'll take him off the line, but he'll gain on you and pass you before you hit that 1/4 mile mark. then again, if you're a much better driver than he then you'll have less to worry about unless you guys run on the freeway or something. good luck!!

They weigh nothing and with the sky high redline if he is good he can have almost full boost at launch. I didn't read the whole mod list, but what size tires is he running in the rear? Without traction problems he will own you.

So when is this gonna happen? Why don't you just race him and stop being scared...worse thing that can happen is you will know where you stand...or is that like a horror movie that you don't want to see or something?

a 10 second civic on slicks usually runs a 11.8-12.2 on drag radials. you have to be an incredible driver to get low 11's on street tires in a civic. Thats with traction bars. The record is 11.0 i believe for a street tire for hondas civics.

wow Why do you think I posted it verbatim? It's funny you're making fun of people's posting and comprehension skills on the intraweb and yet you don't get sarcasm. Sorry I didn't add or to clearly explain it to you... my bad.
