Good, I'm glad you cleared that up for my silly self.

Sorry, maybe you should do your best to assume that not everyone, like you, is psychic.

MY BAD (sarcasm)

Pretty much same here. Only a few people have actually said anything of value. I'm just in here appeasing the peanut gallery now.

I shoulddddd be making around 350whp out of mine.

I have an 05 MR with:

AMS turboback with test pipe
GSC 272/272 Cams
HKS RS intake
Helix o2 Housing
Maxford Exhaust manifold
GRE Performance FMIC
LPI upper and lower IC piping
Forge MBC set to 21 lbs.
Tuned by Dynoflash.

I'm wondering who would win in a drag race (both of us using street tires, no DRs and no Slicks).

He and I live in different cities so please don't tell me "DUH JUST GO RACE HIM", but what do you guys think would happen?

What kind of et's and traps do fd's with 400whp usually throw down?
From the mods you listed, he should be making about 300-350 HP. I used to be a HUGE rotary guy, now converted to a EVO guy. Tune a lot of rotaries still, but my guess is you should be able to beat him with what you have because of the AWD. I didn't read through this thread to see if you raced him or not, but good luck.

Sorry to bring this back... but if you havent raced him yet this should give you an idea, its a vid of my vr4 TT vs a friends fd with 300whp from 3 digs. Put it this way even with a killer launch top end he WILL catch up. My gears are diffrent but as you can see when i hit 4th he was allmost at my bumper.

i was sure he'd catch up but i was also sure my launch would give me a good enough advantage on him (he wouldn't have been running slicks or radials) in the 1/4.

reagardless, his engine blew up, so we'll never get to run now lol

With a lightened flywheel, rx-7s rev faster than hondas. I had a friend with a pro solo prepped turbo II (second gen) with 325-350 whp doing 12s with a single "hybrid" turbo. He had 3mm apex seals with 9.0 compression and mild street port boosting about 20 psi. The 3rd gen rx-7s have bigger intake ports and breathes much better than the 2nd gens. Low compression to me is 8.5 and more boost potential. Your only chance is to get as far ahead at the start because if he does a good burn out with low rear tire pressure, he'll hook up right in no time and catch you before you cross the 1/4 mile.

By the way, isn't 1300 cc secondaries is too big for only 400 whp?

Good luck
After reading what everyone has to say and based on my experience racing against RX7s, I am fairly confident that the EVO will win. My 03 EVO ran 12.0 on street tires, stock clutch and 298 whp on DD dyno, so 12s with 325-350 whp in a 2700 lb RX7 is hardly impressive.

I understand that the car in question likely has more power (despite the somewhat odd mod list) but this one will go to the EVO. if I was in the area, I'd probably put money on it!!!!
