SO close to 11's

Ran my IX in the 1/4 for the first time at battle of the imports at rockingham this weekend. I wasn't dissapointed that I didnt get 11's but was more upset that they put me in a class with slick tires and nitrous. Needless to say i could hang with a 300zx with about 500 hp and slick tires and nitrous. And even beat him a time or two but as for the 10 second supra and Buschur evo....What in the hell were they thinking putting me in that class when other people were winning with 14's in street comp. Anyways my first part of the track is flawless but it feels like it drops off more than other people at the end of the track. Also I always run out of 4th right at the end so i have to go to 5th right as i cross the trap which has to be hurting me.

Well i had 4 gallons of 110 put in at the track but i only got 1 qualifying run and the 3 eliminating runs so it never even got mixed in and i was only running 22 psi.

Thanx man but i can't figure out my i am trapping that low of speed.. Plus it really sucks that i never got to make a run on like 25 psi with some race gas and that they screwed me by putting me in the pro class.

you shouldn't have to shift to 5th gear at that trap speed

Your mph is low because you shifted to 5th, I would think you could of hold it in 4th a bit longer especially with your tune as I'm sure your rev limit was raised to 7800rpm like mine.

What do you mean the race gas didn't mix in? The moment you put it in, it's mixed in. Why didn't you raise the boost after you put it in? Also, 4 gallons in addition to existing gas is too much. You should be on the empty light if you can.

Regardless, it's a great run, but you definitely shouldn't have shifted to 5th? Why'd you do that? You could have continued in 4th and been faster - probably hit 11s on that run. The shift to 5th can knock you down a full tenth. You definitely don't want to shift that close to the end, even if you are hitting the rev limiter.

Btw, if you ARE hitting the rev limiter before the traps, then Al didn't raise your RPM, so you should ask him to do that in the near future.

OK maybe thats why... I even tried to hold it out one time and it hit the limiter right before I hit the traps..This was all on a base flash also.
