Went back out, new best mph!

Went back out yesterday to see if I could match my numbers from last night and was quite suprised. I didnt beat my e.t. but I ran a new best mph. Here are a few runs. Weather was high 60's. All runs were at 24psi with a 50/50 mix of 92 and 110 octane.

First run I bogged bad but ran a really good mph.

60' 1.955
1/8 8.10
mph 91.84
1/4 12.36
mph 118.97

This run I got a decent launch but ran my best ever mph!

60' 1.77
1/8 7.63
mph 91.33
1/4 11.84
mph 119.68

This was my last run of the night and was almost identical to my run Friday night.

60' 1.73
1/8 7.58
mph 92.06
1/4 11.78
mph 117.49

Im pretty pleased with my runs but traction is the issue now. I think that with my current tires at this track and without an LSD a 1.7 60' is about as good as Im gonna get.

Yeah, I'm convinced that something is up where you live. I mean come on, 119 at over 2000' of altitude without even being custom tuned and with mild cams? I have the same cams and unfortunately only trap 109.5 at my altitude with a custom tune for alky. Trapping a full 10mph more at only 3000' below me. I dunno, just doesn't add up.

There's less than 5 cars that have trapped 119 on the stock turbo (that I've seen), and they were all tuned to the gills on race gas and at low altitude. They don't auto-correct the et/mph at your track, do they?

If everything is normal, then you just have the most amazingly fast Evo in all of creation (mod for mod).

Im running Kumho Ventus HRII's. I was getting completely sideways on a couple of the launches and had to let off on one run to keep from hitting the concrete divider. I launch at 5800 which is where my 2-step seems to be set.

I dont know what to tell you about my car. Maybe its got the "Curt Brown mod"

Here are some other times for comparison.

Mid 90's Z28 with intake, cam, heads, full exhaust, nitrous, and a few other things I dont remember. 13.0@110 feathering it off the line with a 2.2 60'

1G DSM with a 16g, standalone, and bolt ons. 13.2@103

3 SRT-4's all stage 3 one with drag radials. 12.8@107 DR 13.6@108 ST

1G DSM stock with intake box cutout 15.2@88

New Mustang GT with Cold Air Intake. 13.8's not sure of MPH

What RPM would I be crossing at to be running 118-119 cause I know Im about out of room in 4th. Feel free to come up and run if your in doubt BTW

Typical Warrtalon response. Just becasue he can't do it, something isn't right with your car! This is why I people get sick of him.

On a side note, great time and mph! My highest mph so far was 117.xx Traction was an issue for me too. Good job man!

I have similiar mods on my 05 except I'm still using stock ic and exhaust manifold. I trap 112 at the same track. NIevo is just amazingly fast for the stock turbo. Congrats again on some very good times. Maybe one of these days I too will hit a 11.7 at 119.lol

Lol... With your new setup your going to run a 10.5@100mph cause your going to leave drivetrain parts down the track. When are you going to be back up? I cant make it out on the 30th so I want a ride before you break something

I am running the Cusco Twin Disc. NLTS all the way

That's good evidence that his traps are legit - thanks for responding.

Midwestmonster, NIevo have been buds for a while. He's one of the best drivers on here, but in the past, his traps weren't insane, but his driving sure was. Now, all the sudden, he is getting these unbelievable trap speeds without near the mods required for doing so at that altitude. Something has to be making the power - he only has a base flash and isn't tuned for race gas. He's just doing a mix of pump/race and turning up the boost a little. I don't know where the power comes from. It also has nothing to with what I can and can't do. My car is just a good comparison, because I have the same cams and similar mods all around while being at an altitude disadvantage, but his traps indicate a full 100whp more than I have. That is very strange, wouldn't you say? I'm glad he's going fast, because he's a Dynoflash customer and is a good guy. I just can't think of an explanation for how he's making what equates to 410whp WITHOUT TUNING.

NI, as for Curt, he doesn't create HP and big trap speeds out of the blue. He takes a given trap speed and runs a quicker ET than anyone in existence - big difference. For instance, your 12.3@108 was superb, but now the high 11s and low 12s with 117-119 are no longer that great. The problem is obviously traction, not your driving, but that's where Curt shines. He'd take that 119 and run an 11.2 or something. I think you'll do 11.5 if you get some drag radials...

I was being sarcastic about the CB mod

My best speed with a TBE, MBC, filter, and flash was a 109 on a 9.8 hotside and pump at 22psi. I added quite abit to open it up, cams, 10.5, O2 housing, exhaust mani, etc. I also believe that when I made my first runs this year on pump I was pulling timing up top because its amazing how hard the car pulled in 4th with the 50/50 mix at only 24psi. Before it felt like it died around 6900-7000rpm which it shouldnt with cams.

Im planning a trip to Seattle the end of the year to run at Pacific so we'll see what happens over there. I have no doubts with a good low 1.6 or high 1.5 the car will go 11.5's Im just starting to worry about the drivetrain as Im not easy on it.
