First time at the track with an evo ix

I decided to go the track today to see how I would do. I have never ever raced at a drag strip so it was definately a new experience for me. Anyway here is the info.

Evo ix with custom dynoflash, mbc, 3 inch tbe exhaust.

It was 90 degrees today in NJ and I have no idea about the humidity.

60' = 1.74
1/8= 7.96@86.56 mph
1/4= 12.43 @ 111 mph

My best 60 ft of the day was a 1.71 but I messed up the 1-2 shift but was able to get a 12.9@110 mph.

NOTE that I added 1 gallon of 110 with my fuel light on and cranked up the boost to 25 psi...

Is that all the mods you have? If so, will you please get more detailed on the mods (companies and whatnot)?

As long as the tbe is a full 3 inches, in fact I have a taper at my downpipes because I have a tanabe, you have a good boost guage + mbc and a good tune you should be good.

I really wanted to hit the low 12s but it was not going to happen today. I looked at superscouts timeslip and he was able to run a 11.93@115, which is unreal, I guess he went to the track when it was cooler..

That is pretty much the norm for a IX with those mods, some go even faster. Just been awhile since a IX with such mods posted a time. I hope to share my times in the near future

Great job, Doogie. I didn't do that well my first time. It's good to see your IX is making good power. Not overly great power, considering it was on race gas with 25psi, but still strong. Doing that in 90* in the summer is great, too. In the Fall months, you will probably see 113-114mph traps.

Warr,

I do think my car is a bit underpowered because I really thought with 1.7ish 60'ft times I should have been able to hit low 12's? Any idea why the times were kinda off?

Pretty slow shifting or improper shift points. I'm doing 12.30@108-109 up here at altitude, and I did 12.26@110 down at sea level. At one point in time last year in 95* weather at MIR, I did 12.1x all day with 111.5 traps with mid 1.7 60's. That gives you an idea of where you CAN be even with your current power level - you just have to shore up the shifting. Shift around 7000-7100rpm and do it extremely fast...
