Did my TBE make me slower?
Did my TBE make me slower?
Ok this could just be in my head but i swear i got slower.... Here is what happened..
First bone stock i ran:
60' = 2.23
1/4 = 13.1 @105.9
(best stock trap speed was a 107.8)
Now after the install of my TBE with no cat i ran:
60' = 1.8 (consistantly)
1/4= 13.0 @ 105.1
The concern was the fact that i feel i wouldve gotten a 13.0 bone stock if my 60' time was what it is now.. Is it possible i needed a tune right after an exhaust like that? Or am i doing something wrong. Did my shift points and or peak power change that i was un aware of? Im getting a manifold and 02 housing on friday and finally on August 10th getting tuned at Buschur racing.. Any advice on this issue?

Well, let's see. First of all, it is the middle of summer with the most heat of the year. Was your previous stock run done in the middle of summer, too? A TBE will give you at most 30whp, so that's 3mph max. Racing in hot vs cool weather can cost you anywhere from 1-3mph. Then, add in the fact that adding a TBE to a IX without a tune adds almost no power due to the stock ECU detuning itself, and it seems you are fine. You will see great gains with the tune and boost set to 23psi on 93oct (as long as you have an MBC), and then in the cooler months, it will be even faster.
Oh, and I'd have to say that a 13.1@105.9 with a 2.23 60' is almost impossible. I'd have to see that slip to believe it, because a 2.23 wouldn't get you anywhere near 13.1 with that trap speed.

SOOOO its good news then, i didnt know that a IX ecu detunes itself.. thats comforting information becasue now i have something to look forward to on the 10th with a nice tune.
Okay here are the pics, but before you flame me on my BS beginning post, i was using numbers that were close to the top of my head. The slips were in my car, it was hot outside and instead of doing it correctly by actually looking at the exact times i used what i thought was right.. Anyways here are the slips. i mixed up 2 of my runs but here... tell me what im doing wrong.
PS my car feels like it is falling on its face when im in mid 3rd gear. how so?

Did you run at the same track?

yes, each race was at the same track. I am normally in the left lane, the final run was in the right.. best time so far in the right lane. so was Warr said true, about my IX with the TBE basically running stock? Why is that, what does the computer recognize if anything? Does it retard the timing, or reduce boost? am i spiking with the bigger DP and it wont allow it?
Here is the Video footage of my racing the modded SRT 4 last night
He had mopar stage 2 ecu bigger injectors,intake,custom intake manifold, hoses and a turbo back exhaust... His A/F ratio was a 10.3-1 and needed to be a 11.7-1 so he was not running correctly.
My car just has a TBE with no cat
