Wouldn't you get more bang/$ out of nitrous with a modded car first?

You will get the N2O effect regardless of when you use it. With a 50-shot, you can gain 90whp. It looks like that's about exactly what happened here.

What makes no sense is coming online and asking what HP he's making when all he did was run nitrous with almost no mods. Why would he even care? It's also dumb to say he ran these times without tuning. Gimme a break, nothing gives as much of a power gain as a shot of nitrous.

i just wanted peoples edjucated opinions on my power levels, not to be bashed or made fun of for using nitrous, i had the kit from my last car so i threw it on, the car with barely any money in it went low 12s in 90 degree heat with a da of 3000 so to me its working well just wanted an estimate of hp i might be making

So is it really safe to use nos with turbo? I heard the bottom end cant handle the sudden increase of hp. I only used to NOS my NA cars.

i have used nitrous in all my cars both turbo and supercharged, when used corectly i think its very safe, people use nitrous on evos but they just dont talk about it, i guess because of how they get bashed on here for using it

You shouldve ran better times with those kinds of 60fts. Also the et's dont match the trap speeds especially wit nitro IMO. On the other hand, maybe it had to do with the humidity something that I am not savy on due to me living in so cal. Good run though.

Sesso, just a 50-shot is all you need, and you can gain 90whp. I think I already mentioned that.

Cbrtrx, I answered you right away with no bashing, but it still doesn't make any sense to claim your times then say no tuning and low mods without mentioning nitrous until much later. It also is of no importance whatsoever what WHP we _think_ you had ON the N20. What's the point? It's nowhere near what you're making without spraying. Lastly, yes, you went low 12s without spending much, but we've been doing that for years WITHOUT nitrous. I went 12.15 with basic mods in 95-degree heat with a DA of 3300'. If you're running nitrous, you need to be going low 11s to get any attention.

Nitrous is a lot of fun if your clutch can handle it

Nitrous is pointless on an evo. I mean unless you are going on pinks or something. You can make your car just as fast and make it more reliable with regular mods that work around the efficiency of the turbo. Nitrous may be safe, but heed my word when I say for a limited amount of time. It is a ticking time bomb even when it is tuned for it and even when you are using small amounts. The evo was built and created around the premises of a turbo not nitrous. And it is nearly impossible to perfectly tune a boosted/nitro car. I know cause I have the same difficulty on my other car. The only reason I have nitro on my boosted car is cause it is fwd and I use it to get the turbo spooled and to get out of the hole quicker. With the evo because you have awd and a quick spooling turbo nitrous isnt needed. Thats just my .02.

Nitrous is not pointless on an evo....I wanted to have my car competitive in both autox and drag racing and nitrous is the way to go, with a 50-75 shot you can run low 11s all day long and still go do an autox and win the event with the fast spooling stock turbo, until you try nitrous on an evo don't call it pointless or useless. It is not a ticking time bomb either if you run a 50 shot or smaller, it is perfectly fine and requires no tuning unless you are running a turbo kit. I had to do minor tuning for the 75 shot and that was it. Its a great power mod for people like me that want to be competitive in two sports...

everyone seems to be against nitrous on this forum, but i must say drive a car with nitrous then let me know how you like it, like i said i had the kit laying around and i just got the car so i havnt barley modded it yet so i threw the nitro on and dropped over a second in the 1/4 mile, all i wanted was some good guesses of the power my car might be making on the nitrous from my 1/4 times, not to hear that my times suck or my car will blow up

Did you not read what has already been stated about a billion times? You can have a 11 sec car with mods that will make your car much more reliable in the long run with little investment as well. Look at my sig, I spent less than 1300 and I am running either low 12's or high 11's and barely if not any people have had detreental internal damage due to simple bolt ons. Also it does require tuning because the car comes stock with a turbo kit-duh! You do know evos are turboed right? UNless you are referring to a turbo upgrade?

Also I am not "AGAINST" using nitrous I just told you I use it myself. However, there are better alternative and safer means of getting power in an evo.

Now of course people have used nitrous before in their evos but I am just saying its kinda pointless unless you really need to beat someone. I like having instant power whenever I need it. With the nitrous its not like that at all.
