If I'm getting 1.65s now, would it be safe to assume the drag radials will get me into the 1.5s?
You should be hitting 1.5 60ft you just need to play with your launch a little. 255 damn. I would hit low 1.5 with that. What is your tire pressure. I ran 1.59 60 ft with the stock yok advans.

I am not sure how much they would help but as far as fitment:
Nitto 555R's 245-45-17 sticky
BFG Gforce DR 225-45-17 stickier
Mickey Thomp. 275-40-17 stickiest(need a 17x9 wheel for best fit)

The BFG's run extremely wide for the size listed...the BFG 225's look like 245's from another manufacturer.

+1 for the RA1's being an all around great tire for the $$$ My best 60' is 1.60 and I get consistent low 1.6's with my 255/40-17's. Then again with my DSM and some Azenis 215's on stock rims I ran 1.59. Track prep and suspension play a very big part in 60's.

good luck finding the BFG's. i heard they stop making the size 255/45/17. that is the size we need for our stock evo rims.

Going wider isn't going to help its just going to add weight. The best drag tire for the stock rim would be a sticky soft sidewall 225/45/17.

I've pulled a 1.60 on 2 year old snow tires with the stock clutch. If you look around many people have made their quickest short time on snow tires.
