First time at the 1/8 dragstrip. How did i do??

I went for the first time ever to the local 1/8th mile strip to test out my evo. The track has a elavation of 600', it was 83 degrees, And a little windy against our cars. I had about 2 gallons of 93 and 2 gallons of 91. So i guess its safe to say i was running 92 octane. I did not cary the spare or jack. I just got a new exedy stg2 clutch installed a month ago. My wheels are about 22-23 lbs 18*8.5 on bridgstone potenzas. Everytime i used the launch control the tires would squeek bad off the line. Its set at 6krpm and builds about 5lbs of boost. Other cars their were bolton LS1's doing 8.9's and 9.1's repeatedly. All out extended bikes were doing 6.9's and7.2's. Full racing muscle cars were doing high 6's low 7's. Just for comparison. I wanted to buy race gas and bump the boost up a little but i'll do that next time. I repeatedly ran 1.85-1.88 60fts. Any advice.
Reaction 1.152
60 ft 1.871
330 ft 5.415
1/8 et 8.369
1/8 mph 84.63 This was the best slip. All the rest ranged up to 8.6's.

Sounds like decent runs, I am guessing you would hit a mid 12 @ around 105-110 or so, but I am far from a 1/4 mi expert so I could be off. Seems like the conditions were far from perfect, and you may see quite an improvement with better fuel, less wind and cooler temps.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe my launch control is set too high. Tires were squeeking bad. At one point i was trying to control the traction and get straight. Next time i will try race gas and bump the boost to 24psi. Check the tire pressure and lower it. I think i might go back to the stock gsr wheels for track runs.

your launch was average at best, 1.87 is nothing to write home about. Easily could take a couple ticks of with a better launch. My guess is the 1/4 would be around 105 with a high 12 low 13. For me a 7.6 or 7.7 in the 1/8 at 90ish is a low 12.

I'm guessing high 12s also. the launch isn't bad but there is some room for improvement.

when I run mid 12s my 60' is usually 1.7, the 330 is 5.1x-5.2x and the 1/8th is 8.0x-8.1x with 85-86mph trap. more practice and you'll get there. Overall not bad for your first time out.

Thanks. When you get that 1.7, do your tires spin?

There is a little tire squeal on my best launchs, I have spun the tires out of the hole and it can be scary when the car rotates. It could be cold track temps, poor track setup or water on the tires.

I ran 8.034 @ 89 mph my 2nd time out to strip with close to same mods as you last year.

Only difference was custom dynoflashed on 93 oct with stock catback, no launch 2step, and stock clutch.

This was on 23 psi on 93 octane (custom tuned)

Expect a lot faster times with more octane and boost, but tuning for that will make the most difference

How did you trap 89 with a stock catback? You have a 1.5 60 and NOS or something? That sounds like BS to me. With the mods in my sig I have gone 7.811@85 in the 1/8th (1.67 60) and ended up with 12.21@112.37. This was on the stock clutch though.

Do yall think i have a better chance at a faster 60ft with the stock enkeis over my heavy 18's? These rims weigh about 22lbs each.
