question about my time

I have a stock IX MR. well it was stock. anyway, I am at an elevation of 4100 feet and run on a pretty ****ty track. I put up a times of 14.3-14.4 pretty consistantly, and the best racer i know of has only hit 14.35 in my car. Does elevation have that much effect on my car or what? I dont know how my launch is because i can only get 1/4 times they dont have 60ft, reaction times or 1/8 mile times here. how ever i do know that there is no way that i can improve my shifts or anything other then my launch. I smoke every other stock evo in el paso well the other two, and I have taken one lightly mod'd evo 8. the track temps are typically 80* and the air temps are normally about 72ish. I know i come off the line slow by my standards... but i still take almost everyone out of the hole. can anyone give me some advice. Or any information on how elevation effects a car.

Yes elevation can have a big impact on 1/4 mile times, 14.3-14.4 is pretty good for your elevation and track conditions. I wouldn't sweat it, especially if other EVOs and cars are also running slower.

There is a correction factor you need to use, actually, there are several of them. Do a google search on "¼ mile elevation correction factor".

Nevermind, I found it for you...

The correction factor is .9497 for 4,100 ft., so...

14.3 = 13.58 .

like i said in the first place... the strip is podunk as hell... its a old strech of airport runway.. there are no timeslips only a clock that shows 1/4 times... and thats at the start not the finish. I am gonna try to get out to roswell here shortly... i hear theres a decent strip out there. with working full time in the army its hard to find time to make it out to a real strip.
