Results from the first time out with my stock block 35r
Went to a track rental today and the weather couldn't have been any better. Only problem was getting traction on my bald stock Advans, something I am not used to.
I got a total of 10 passes in. The goal today was to run an 11 on just straight pump gas, but I didn't have enough in the tank and after the 3rd pass my low fuel light came on and I had to add some 104 race gas. Hopefully the next time out I'll be ready.
The car in question is my 04 GSR w/SS&L, the heaviest of all the 8's. Comes in at 3500 with my 200# but in the drivers seat. My setup consists of:
GT35r w/.63 exhaust housing (5bolt)
RNR standard 8ga manifold
Tial 38mm WG re-routed back into the DP
1000cc injectors
3" ebay exhaust
ebay IC
Everything was tuned by myself using ECUFlash which worked out awesome.
I'm still running on the stock MAF, stock cams, stock intake, stock IC pipes, stock trans/TC, wheels, ect... I even have the stock MAF pipe attached to the turbo.
Below are the pump gas runs were the boost was between 19-21 psi.
#1 - Since this was my very first pass with the new setup I decided to just take it easy here. I only tuned it on the street a couple of times so I didn't know what was going to happen.
60' - 1.945
330' - 5.289
1/8th - 8.045
MPH - 88.69
1000 - 10.427
1/4 - 12.405
MPH - 114.70
I was shocked by the MPH from just tuning on the street, the car really didn't feel that fast. I was actually expecting traps around 110. The tune showed a few counts of knock so I took a couple degrees of timing out and went again.
This pass I decided to actually drive the car a little better.
60' - 1.799
330' - 5.102
1/8th - 7.836
MPH - 89.26
1000 - 10.187
1/4 - 12.139
MPH - 116.28
again I tweaked the tune after that last pass by pulling some more timing out up top. I think this tune is now perfect for pump gas and I will be able to run an 11 with just a touch more boost and traction. The results from my last pumpgas run are below.
60' - 1.898
330' - 5.202
1/8th - 7.926
MPH - 89.79
1000 - 10.260
1/4 - 12.199
MPH - 116.92
I made about 7 more passes on a mix of 93/104. I couldn't get traction in 1st gear to save my life, we sideways a couple of times but mostly just spun the crap out of it. they all were 11.8-11.9, the best two are below.
60' - 1.742
330' - 4.966
1/8th - 7.647
MPH - 91.1
1000 - 9.949
1/4 - 11.871
MPH - 117.73
60' - 1.785
330' - 5.006
1/8th - 7.652
MPH - 92.6
1000 - 9.930
1/4 - 11.837
MPH - 118.53
I also trapped 119 on one pass but only went 11.9 All together I'm happy with the pumpgas performance, I think there is still more left in the car with more boost and practice. Driving this turbo is like night & day compared to the stocker.

Here is a screen shot of 3rd & 4th gear from the last pass I made on pump gas (12.1 @ 116). Full lift shifting, 20psi and 10:1 A/F. I can't wait to get back there and really start tuning, this is so much fun!
