Finally in the 10s in Tucson (SIR 3100ft)
This guy ran 10s in Tucson (SIR, 3100ft)
Well, finally someone ran a track record on an Evo at SIR(Tucson,3100ft), previous record was 12.3. This guy (Gabriel) from El paso,TX brought his Evo to Tucson to race it and he ran a 10.92@131.46 not even using the NOS.
What makes this history ironic is that he owns a performance shop for Evos called evolutionracing but he never heard of www.evolutionm.net
The reasons why I am posting is because obviously the guy does not even know of our website, secondly I am the one that filmed the 10 sec pass plus took tons of pics of his car.
This car put down 598whp/586tq on a dynojet and the car was fully built and tune by AMS. Car had a stroker kit from AMS, 70 trim turbo, AMS IC and he had his car virtually loaded with carbon fiber(full doors, hood, trunk, all kinds of trims, dash, mirrors, you name it)
I took many pictures of the car and I will be posting the video as well. I am aware that this is no the fastest Evo in the country but 10.9@131 without NOS and at this elevation could easily compare to a high 9 sec or low 10 sec car at sea level and NOS.
Pics here: (Guy on red t-shirt is the Evo owner)

Last night there were two brand new track records ever at SIR. You happen to know already in person the previous track record holders from SIR but last night Rob did significantly faster times on his Evo9 with dynoflash tuned.
I told Rob that I would not comment on the forum until I see himself opening a post. It is amaizing how fast his car ran with a mail in flash from dynoflash

Gaijin is running even larger displacement (2.4l) and a much bigger turbo(GT42R I think) so I have no doubt that he is indeed very capable of low 10's or high 9s.
I haven't seen Gaijin(Reid) since then but unless someone could confirm that Gaijin(Reid) ran faster than 10.9 then this guy is to my knowledge the faster Evo I ever seen in AZ so far.

Crazy
Yeah Reid's on a GT42r with a 1.02 rear a/r. He has coverage in Turbo magazine for this month with Mynes Perf. stickers all across his car. Supposedly he put down 700awhp/600awtq. That's plenty for a low 10sec pass..
^^^^ Incognito,
With that power he shouldn't have any issues running low 10s. Remember, the guy from last night ran high 10's at 3100ft and less WHP (598whp dynojet), Reid on the other hand has much more power and torque and also will run at significantly lower altitude(1250ft vs 3100ft).
But the real test is always to manage to run the car efectively. Dyno numbers are one thing but at the track a turbo such a GT42R isn't easy to deal with due to the turbo lag. I can't wait to see Reid's Evo in the 10's or 9s, he had that car project for a long time now and it is time to put it into the real test.
