Between 7000 and 7800? That's a huge gap...was it 7000 or 7800? The difference in those two shift points would be profound. You should be shifting right around 7k...

let me rephrase....

i tried shifting at different rpms on each pass to see what difference it would make....everytime i made a pass i shifted at a different point between 7000 and 7800...does this clear it up a bit? sorry for the unclear post..

Ok.

Do the 1-2 just below 7k, then do the rest at 7000-7100. Your IX 5spd has a short 4th gear, so you'll really be winding it out at the end of the track, which is a slight disadvantage vs VIII 5spds.

thanks man...i'll defiantely try this shift method when i get a chance to...not sure if it will be this year but i will definately try this...thanks again..
