Stock turbo gettin er dun!

Went to atco this morning for the last Saturday of the season. Temps were bitter cold, like in the 40s and traction was real hard to come by. I have the car in winter mode now with the blizzak WS-50's on stock rims.

the car is an 04 GSR w/75k miles on the stock motor. Only mods are ebay TBE, Hallman MBC, JDM BOV, k&n cone intake, & ECUFlash, everything else is stock. I removed the spare tire, other then that everything is full weight, I still have the sub in the trunk. My previous best was a 12.24 @ 111.24 with 22psi on pumpgas. Today I was running the same 22psi with pumpgas but I tweaked the tune a little and it helped.

60' - 1.765
330' - 5.01
1/8 - 7.71
MPH - 90.36
1000' - 10.06
1/4 - 12.06
MPH - 113.11

the first pass was the best of the day. I picked up a little MPH up top but couldn't get traction down low to make any use of it. Other 2 passes I got were 12.1's @ 113 also.

1/8 - 7.79
MPH - 89.94
1000' - 10.13
1/4 - 12.12
MPH - 113.96

My ultimate goal for the stock turbo has always been an 11 second pass. Today I was so close but I didn't feel like beating on the car to drop another 1/10th. Over the winter I'm going to get the trans/tc freshened up and give that 11sec pass another shot.

I would be very happy with that pass. Cold winter air sure makes a difference with our turbos. My car feels so much stronger now.

That's crazy mph for pump gas - I'm beginning to wonder about Atco and all the record-breaking times/mphs coming from that track. Let us know if you are able to trap 113 on pump gas at Mason Dixon if you get a chance (or some other track).

Great job! This is very impressive especially with no cams or 10.5 hot side & @ only 22 psi on pump gas. I also see in your signature that you have an 04 with SSL & even with the spare tire out your car is still heavy. Nice.

Atco is notorious for ridiculous (good) results at this time of year...

Very nice power sans cams!

What clutch are you using? Do you have a walbro fuel pump?

Those are ridiculous times man. Great job. 11s are around the corner.

With that 1/8th I would think you should of hit 11s easily. something going on after the 8th mile?

Nothing wrong after the 1/8th - it's just a stock cammed Evo on moderate boost. My 1/8th was even better with a 7.63 @ 90.87, but I still fell short of 11s with a 12.000 - just no top end with stock cams.

Thanks for the comments.

The car does have a drop in Walbro and an exedy twin clutch. I am also running w/o a maf screen and have been for almost a month now, not by choice though, I sucked in the screen when I was running my 35r and haven't found a replacement yet. I am able to tune around it @ WOT and it only effects low speed driving so its not a huge deal at the moment.

the reason why my top end sucks is because of the stock cams, like mentioned above. I also got 12 counts of knock in 4th gear on that pass and I got shift knock on every shift. I'm not making excuses I'm just saying there is more there to work with.
